Another run for the Craz but hot damn was it cold in UT. 40’s Air/Water is no joke! Snow coming tomorrow and clearing for the weekend.

[QUOTE=rdlangston13;323634]I’d like to upgrade to the Fulton 2 speed winch. Never have to power on the trailer again.
Both upgrades I plan for this spring, if it ever comes.
Which weight did you go with?

How heavily do you have your Craz weighted? I'd love to be looking at a swell like that!
That's the factory weight with 100% full surf side, 90% non and 70% in the bow. I'm not sure what the plate setting are.Quote:

The helm box build has begun... I immediately realized why I stopped building them years ago. MDF sucks. Makes such a mess. But the price of birch boards has gotten out of control.

I hate MDF. I have most of a sheet of 4x8' 3/4" left over from a laundry pedestal build, and I keep thinking about just taking it to the dump.
The weather and my schedule finally cooperated. Water was set to a bit chilly at 48 degrees... Drysuits are a good thing.

So I donned the drysuit and even looked silly with my neoprene cap. The things I'll do to get my surf fix.

All in all it ended up being a nice day on the water.

Made a cheap fluid extractor using a bucket, couple fittings, hose and my shop vac. Works like a champ.

Last year there was a 12" sub in a smaller sealed box at the helm down at my feet. Wanted to pick up some space under there and was planning on notching the floor hump to slide it back. Then I ran across this ported box and tested it out. Sounds way better so Im trying to fit it in there now. The first picture is as far back as it would go with the hump. There is plenty of room now. Just need to figure out where it sounds the best, finalize placement, add feet to the box, finish the fiberglass and carpet on the hump removal. Then build false wall and footrest.

Removed both floor panels while I was doing other things. I planned to replace the carpet this year, or swap over to foam flooring. Projects and time got away from me. So I quickly rinsed down the carpet with the hose and dyed it with RIT dye. I had no idea how it would turn out, but it was worth a shot and quick to do. Figured any improvement would be better than it was.

Here it is after rinsing several times until the water ran clear. Turned out way better than I thought it would. Wished I would have actually tried to clean the carpet before doing it!

I have some 3 mil booties for surfing. They're very comfy and my feet aren't cold at all. But you don't feel the board as well. For wakeboarding, I have some fleece/neoprene socks that I wear in my closed toe boots. Does pretty good. I was fine in 36 degree water in January that way.
we fill our neoprene gloves and socks with hot water from the shower right before getting in the cold water and it really helps you stay warm. Every little bit helps :)
The gloves I use keep my hands dry (they're kayaking gloves) so I've never had trouble there. My boat doesn't have a hot shower though and it's something I haven't had a huge amount of motivation to add. My booties keep my feet pretty dry too. Just the loss of board feel. But then again, when I surf in cold temps, I really don't wanna take a fall so I don't push myself. LOL

That monochrome life. You are the new stormtrooper.
Nice setup!
Little windy today hopefully it’s nice out there.
It was windy. But the desire to get on the water outweighed any mph wind. Haha

Thank you for derailing all that cold talk! Lmao
I was getting depressed and the chills just thinking about their water! Makes me appreciate that 68° water we’ve got going down here.
Russell, that is just a cool looking rig ya got there. Wow... I wouldn’t kick it outta my shop! Lol

It was hard to get me away from Grapevine last year! Closest ramp to the house and the beach area was a great place to hang out.
Got out on Conroe yesterday afternoon for a little surf sesh. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d9ae845f4.jpeg
