The next Monday of June 10th is the Houston area Wake the World event being held at Bethy Creek, Rinkers Boat World who is sponsoring the Moomba/Supra Texas Jam is also going to be making it out for this event and supplying an SA350 for the kids to ride on. I know I will be there as well as a lot of out local GCWA club member helping to make a difference in the lives of these kids. I am stoked!
I will try to snap some good shots of the event and throw them up here.
Awesome im looking forward to our second year in this in July,
Just remeber, your not allowed to post pictures of the kids faces, its a Legal issue.
I'm just relaying what the Wake the World people told us last year, all the pictures that got posted from Oregons Wake the World had to be approved before being posted.
This is why i didnt post any pictures of our boat.
I know theres lots of pictures and video's.
You will find out at the event, they will tell you the rules, a lot of it has to do with a lot of the foster kids are not sopposed to be in the pictures due to court, and reasons why they are fosters.
If you are attending this event, could you please post up how many people you are bringing and what size shirts everyone would like. This will help us get our numbers in line so we make sure we have enough shirts and food for everyone.
Fellow forum members, I will do the same thing as I did last year. If I have any extra shirts, I will be glad to send them out to those that want them. I just ask that you pay shipping.
I look forward to seeing everybody again this year as well as meeting new faces. Let's make it another great event of sun, friends, boating and BBQ!
Thanks,
Cody

I'll be there again this year - don't know for sure yet which days & who'll be tagging along, but it's on the calendar. Please put me down for 1L, 1M, and 2S shirts (I don't want the kids fighting over mine again). Thanks for pulling this together again!
Second notification: We need a head count for food and t-shirts. Please post up on here, the Supra Boats forum, or the facebook page. Include your name, how many are in your party, and how many/what size shirts are needed. We plane to place the food and shirt order early next week.
Other lodging options? If there are other options, could we leave the boat on trailer there, so were not lugging it around?
There is a motel in Trinity about 7 or 8 miles away and I m sure we could work something out with Bethy Creek that would allow y'all to parks boats there over night as long as there is parking available.
Also look into cove marina. They are fairly close (within 5 miles) and I believe they also have cabins.

Lake Country Inn is the name of the hotel in Trinity.

Cody should have me down for an XL T-Shirt
Conditions are looking great for the Jam! Put in at Bethy Creek on Sunday - water level was up, clear, & flat all day until the storms ran us off late. Don't hate on the tube - only saw 4 other tow boats all day (2 SAN's, 1 old Bu, 1 Supra), so the kids and dog weren't messing up the water for anyone other than a few toons and fishermen. Not many pics taken, but 68 year old mom got her slalom run in, taught 1 guest on the pair of skis, & I got a few board runs in before tweaking a calf bad on the slalom.

Is this a kid friendly event or more adult?
For the most part very kid friendly. The tie up on the last day maybe not so much. Not that it was bad, just some drinking and loud music. Man, mow I feel really old.
All kidding aside my teenage girls were there last year and loved getting to know everybody.
10-4, just trying to figure out if we can make it, and if so if it was fine for the kids.
I cant wait. Counting down the days, working on new flag mounts for the tower!

The event is very kid friendly. We welcome everyone and anyone is welcome to come out to meet some great people, enjoy some BBQ, get involved in the raffle and have a great time!
There will be a tie-up Saturday afternoon/evening which will involve loud music and drinking - but nothing crazy.
Bring the family and kids out - I know they will enjoy it.
Bethy Creek has Volleyball court, Cable Park, Beach - not to mention the wonderful Trinity River.
Thanks,
Cody
Folks, BBQ and Shirts have been ordered. Everything is lined up and ready to roll!
Oh yeah, be sure to keep your eye out for a flying object in the sky above you...
Cody
And just an FYI all extra money earned during the raffle will be going to a charity. The charity is still TBD tho.
Hi! Been busy unfortunately. We are actually coming down Thursday! There will be (4) in the group.
Shirts: Me XL
2.0 Womens medium
Step kiddo Womens medium
Her boyfriend Scrawney size (men's medium I think)
How much are the shirts? If I am too late for shirts it's cool.
Rick and Amy at Skiers Choice have been huge in making this event a success. It's great people like them and all of the other sponsors that keep this event going.
With that, I am pleased to announce that Sun & Ski Sports as another sponsor for this event. They will be out there with items for raffle, gift cards and store coupons.
Sponsors & Raffle (some items are still being decided):
Skiers Choice - Event Shirts
Rinkers Boat World - Event BBQ and Bringing boats (Mondo? SC?)
Exile Audio - ZLD, Exile Balls
Nettle Props - Yeti Cooler
Doomswell - Surf Board
Bethy Creek Resort - 2 cabin weekend stays
Witness Studios - Large prints of your choice
Sun & Ski Sports - raffle items, GC's
I am probably missing items so please forgive me.
A huge thanks to David Langston for coming up with this event 3 years ago. Started with 3 boats and 10 people. Grown to 100+ people and 25+ boats.
Like they say, everything is bigger in Texas!
On behalf of David and myself, we thank all of you for helping us keep this going. If we didn't have such a great group of people and sponsors, this event wouldn't exist.
Thanks,
Cody
I keep turning in my request for a kitchen pass, but it says "denied!, you used it last weekend at the deer lease"
I'm also trying to get the wife on board. I'll let you know how it goes tonight.
