Not even sure Georgia wants Bama again.

I would think it’s the other way around. Georgia would have nothing to lose. It would be a real bad look for Bama to win the conference, but then lose the national championship to the team you previously beat for a championship. I think it would make the whole playoff look stupid. That’s why they should have put UGA vs Bama in a semifinal.
And the Covid list starts for Michigan, Dax Hill did not travel to Florida with the team. His brother Justice is listed on the NFL Covid list for the Ravens, assumption is the hills brothers we’re together for Christmas.
Hill is the 2nd best player on Michigan’s D.
Huge loss.

As an Alabama fan, a 16-team playoff would be great! It would pretty much guarantee even more opportunity for national championship trophies for us! Fact is the most recent season in which Alabama didn’t finish in the top 16 was way back in 2007.
That said, expanding the playoffs to 16 teams and doing away with bowl games would be detrimental to the sport. At the end of the regular season, for the many teams that didn’t make the 16-team playoff roster, a month of practice and athletic development that can only happen on the playing field would disappear. In addition, from the fan experience we would lose the nerves/excitement that comes with having to win every game to make it to the current four-team playoff structure.
In the end, expanding the playoffs to sixteen teams would result in what we’ve seen over the last 7 years since the start of CFB playoffs - the rich (measured by player recruiting, sponsor and TV revenue, conference and national championships) just get richer!
Deerfield - Alabama has had an exceptional run over the last 15 years, but I think your statement was a bit tongue in cheek. At least that is how I am reading it. I think 16 team would lead to less Bama championships, but that is just my speculation. 2015 is a good example, that Ohio State team was loaded and only lost one game in a rain/snow/wind storm on a last second field goal. I think they give Bama all they can handle if they play in the playoffs. Look at the 2016 Penn State team, they were playing really well at the end of the season and if they got in they would have made some noise that year. Of course, if the field was expanded with how well Bama plays I think they would make it every year. They have only missed the 4 team field once. As an Ohio State fan I like the 4 team playoff, it keeps the games during the season meaningful. Look at this year, Ohio State lost arguably 2 out of 3 of its only tough games and that cost them a chance at the playoff. Seems fair to me. However, some years the tiebreakers hurt and some really good teams get left out. But, the formula so far is go undefeated and you won't get left out. The problem is going to occur when 4-5 teams end up undefeated. Or, 3 undefeated and 3 1-loss teams, But just win and you are in.
I think a conference championship should be required if they stick with the 4 team.
Two teams from same conference should not be in CFP.
Before the CFP, late losses meant a lot. 2006 #1 OSU beat #2 Mich 42-39 is an epic battle. They NEVER would have allowed #1 OSU rematch 11-1 Mich. Michigan should still be ranked #2 due to only loss against #1 right?

For awhile I thought 8 teams would be cool. Thus, we could watch college ball the first three weekends in Jan with games meaning something.
Not sure it would make a difference b/c one of the top 3-4 teams would win. But it gives one of the smaller conference teams a chance to compete.
The teams ranked 5, 6, 7, 8 might have 1 upset win, but I would not see these teams winning three strait games vs the top teams in the country.
Sort of sucks it's the same teams getting all the top players each year - loose players to the NFL and just reload.
Rematch revenge is rare in the same season, more likely that rematch is in line with the first game.
From my perspective, it was bad enough to lose to Ohio state 1x per year. However, With as hard as OSU took the loss this year to Michigan, I seriously don’t know what buckeyes would do if they lost TWICE to Michigan in the same season.
Recent example, Oregon Vs Utah. Oregon got crushed both games in similar fashion.

Not sure why all four teams didn't enter a bubble. It been a few weeks in the making. NCAA would lose $$ for what? A decent tournament?
Roll Tide!! Now we get to see what’s up with UGA and Michigan.
Congrats UGA. Good luck against Bama

Kirby Smart is not the coach Nick Saben is. A blow out by Georgia only helps Alabama.
Georgia is opening as the 2-point favorite to win the national title. This week's "rat poison" is, for Alabama, both yummy and delicious, and not faTal. Roll Tide!
Question for you Michigan guys. I read somewhere that this team had around 30 seniors and post grad players, is that correct? Also, if McCarthy is not your starter on opening day, how many games does it take til he takes the job? And, will McNamara hit the portal?
Congrats on the good season and big 10 championship.
I don’t think 30 is accurate. On D they lose hutch, hill, Ojabo , ross to the draft
On O they lose, Haskins and Vastardis (center)
As for McNamara and JJ. It will be an interesting competition for the starter. From all that I have read (A lot) both of them are locked in and know they make each other better.
JJ’s upside is massive. I see them both playing next year with JJ getting more snaps each game. JJ’s arm is insane and obviously he can run. Wasn’t really a dual threat QB, but he is fast.
Just counted, They are losing 16 total to graduation or draft.

I think there needs to be some Wake/Surf Boat floats in the Rose Parade. Just saying......

I would take Georgia -2, I think this is their year.
This comment aged well. Wish I still lived in a state with mobile Sportsbook, would have put a few dollars on Georgia for the heck of it.
Personally, I think it makes the whole thing look stupid with Bama winning the SEC game but losing to the same team in the CFP championship.
Congrats to Georgia!
That game doesn’t make Bama look stupid or the CFP process in general. Your disdain for Bama is showing through your posts bro. We get it.
Considering how much Bama was playing without in terms of personnel I can’t help but be very proud of them making it to the final game. All season it has been one thing after another for them. Yea it would have been sweet to win it but hard to do against that D when you don’t have your star players. Hats off to Georgia for finally beating Bama in nearly a decade. I can’t tell you how many times I heard “this is the Dawgs year” and it always fall apart. It was bound to happen at some point.
Congrats Georgia, well deserved championship!!!!

Wish they had those champ games on a Fri/Sat night.
Congrats GA fans
No issue with Bama, they are far and above the best team of the past 15 years. I would have bet against them because it is hard to beat a team twice in a 3 week period. And I thought Georgia would be hungry. I wish OSU had as many titles as Bama. I would say that OSU is close to top three over that time frame so I don’t have too much to complain about. But Bama gets it done more often than not.
My issue is with the committee. They change the rules from week to week. Did OSU benefit in 2014? Probably. Did they benefit in 2016? Yes. What happens if Oklahoma State wins the big 12 this year? Leave Cincinnati out in favor of Georgia? Also, I think given that this was a rematch game, I stand by my opinion it should have been a semifinal game.
Yes Bama was bit by the injury bug. Congrats to Georgia and Good season for Bama as well.
THIS will forever change the college football landscape.
The SEC is already superior to the other 4 power5 conferences by a long shot, add in massive NIL contracts to elite talent and that separation will grow.

Crazy money for college talent. But either get on the NIL train or be left behind.
Let’s face it, Texas boosters have been doing this for years, not sure if you all remember the booster money in the old SWC days leading to the SMU death penalty. The only difference with NIL is that it is legal.
