My normal setup is ~4100 in water, 500 in lead and 4-6 people. This time I didn't load up the lead because i was lazy and didn't think i would be getting in the water. I regretted that!

I really don't know. It didnt surf like it did - it sucked. But I made a list second decision to jump in the water and surf and didnt even give it a chance to fill all the way up..
May freaking 9 and its still snowing. I'm dying over here...
(I took the winter cover off to do some work on it. The snow kinda hit me by surprise)

 that is crazy for May 9th! We have had cold and wet weather for a few days but fortunately no snow. dang that sucks.
that same system is headed our way this weekend and will 1) ruin my freaking weekend, and 2) have the potential to dump a few inches of rain and royally eff up the lakes for several weeks... After getting a good start this past weekend, I'm pretty disappointed.
80F and sunny here but just dropped mine off for break in svc [emoji30]

sorry to potentially be the only one viewing it the other way but 1967, if it snowed like that all summer long in CO I'd be happy. powell and mead need it.
it's warm here this weekend but raining. so indoor projects it is.

Sick! How thick are the dock lines you’re using? Quarter inch?

Quick wave test. Don't worry we didn't run the boat too long during the break-in with ballast filled. This was just to make sure everything was functioning and no water leaks from the ballast system.

Weather didn't hold out at all though and got rough with all the wind and swells.

blasphemy... guy doing a water test in a new max with a mastercrap hat on :)
I sure do like that color scheme. very sharp... that would be almost exactly how I would spec out a new boat colorwise.
Haha I got a kick out of his MC hat as well. I should have tossed it in the drink :D! They also sell MC and a line of higher end pontoons along with SC products. Greg's a great guy and anyone looking to buy a boat in Alabama should definitely give him a shout. He will do what it takes!
Thanks for the compliments. I absolutely love how it turned out!!!
Here's some video footage I threw together from today. Now I just need a good weather weekend to get some seat time in.. 2 hours on the boat so far. The footage of the first wave was with the center wake plate 100% lol. I didn't realize it will go to 100% when you come to a stop. Later on once I switched sides I realized the plate was fully deployed and then I backed it off. Crazy how it makes a big difference but of course hard to tell from fisheye of the Gopro.

I live at 7,400' of elevation. We are 8 - 10 degrees cooler than Denver on a daily basis.. On the positive side, it never gets above 90 at my house. I'll be thinking of you in July and August when it's 85 and 10% humidity!
The average snowfall during the entire season is about 130" at my house . Winters can be cold, but the summer temps make up for it. I can' complain...too much.
The weather in the PNW's been amazing. Went out for a Sunday-Funday downtown Portland on Cinco de Mayo.
The wife got in her first surf of the season.

Then we celebrated a little as we broke a lot of people's boating "rules".

then we met some friends, and decided to tie up for a bit and hosted the music.

Took the boat out again on Wednesday.
Water's colder on the Columbia River (57 degrees)

My favorite day of the year - when she goes back in the water. Got the name on her the other day, too. [emoji23] https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e1fdc84450.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...67cf7a1eac.jpg

Looks like a few hour window this morning for the best boating weather all weekend
Jealous of all you guys getting out! Slow start this year. Added our 3rd boater to the family in March! I will be waxing this week and dropping the boat in next weekend for the season. I debated ceramic coating but just don’t have the time this year. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a3da89b493.jpg

All cleaned it up to start the year up in Canada. Ice just came off my lake so might be a few weeks before I get a surf in. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7206bd0cac.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...483ae6397f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e30b2f6574.jpg
Epic Saturday in Portland. Record highs of 90 degrees! We launched at 830am and had some fun before most people got out... I got in my first ski and my first wakeboard of the season. Hooked up a new guy with a day on the water. It's always a blast to have someone that makes me look like a beginner. The XLV put out a meaty wake with about 2700 pounds of ballast.

The wifey was happy to transition from drysuit to wetsuit. (63 degree water now).

Docked up the Boat and walked to lunch at Portland Sports Bar & Grill. Good food and drinks on the patio and adding more people to the crew for the day.

we ended up rocking 10 boards + my ski for the day.
Good times with a good crew!

After some more surfing and wakeboarding with a crazy amount of boats in downtown Portland, I took a foil set and then we met up with friends and went to the party cove. Tieup, music and even some BBQ off the buddy's 26' SeaRay cuddy was great. Unfortunately for him, there was a TON of debris in the Willamette Rvier and he hit a submerged log and it destroyed his outdrive. I was already out of the water and driving home when this happened. They had to call 911 and the fire department boat came out and got the women/kids off his boat and was pumping water to keep it afloat. (a big hole where the outdrive was would overpower 4+ normal bilge pumps!!!)

They kept a afloat until they would get his truck and trailer brought out from over an hour away. Now insurance and repairs...
Oh no! That's a terrible feeling way down in your gut right there.
Ouch! Yea that’s the stuff my nightmares are made of right there. Glad they all made it ok!

Found a fun activity for the littles on the lake when looking for a small break. Small remote controlled jet boats to play boat tag on the lake.....one way to start honing hand eye coordination as future first mates. Also, a testament to the amount of storage on the Max that you end up storing lots of random crap on board :)

That’s a cool idea for times you’re just chilling in a cove. Got a link to the toy boats? Wouldn’t mind getting a pair for the daughter and I. I feel bad I don’t have a single thing stowed in my Max right now lol. That will all change tonight as I prep for tomorrow’s first full day with the Max.
Enjoy the water tomorrow! Especially since Sunday I am guessing the storm hitting us Texan's tonight/tomorrow will be on your doorstep come Sunday. Fingers crossed the wind is at bay....the Max's freeboard makes for one heck of a sailboat in 20 mph wind :)
The boats aren't super fast for an adult, but plenty for the kids. Doesn't hurt (pun intended) that they are prop-less as well. I bought them at a local hobby shop, but here they are at hobby town, amazon. Pro Boat Jet Jam 12 inch Pool Racer RTR

Suck gate came in (ebay knock off of Mission's piece) and it cleaned up the wake nicely. Lakes are pretty dirty due to the recent rainfall. Most ramps & and several lakes are closed due to flooding.

Few more shots from yesterday.
