The OBV doesn't have much of a profile on the transom, so I don't really get any spray but your transom has quite a bit of contour. You could probably cut the edge of the gate closest to the stern to the transom profile and then just reattached it to the support arms a few inches from where it is right now. Basically cut the profile and "slide" the whole thing towards the stern.
^^^ what Joe said...
Just for the pic, it's small enough to fit in the rear storage no problem.
I find it steers ok while turning towards the side with the gate but like crap opposite side.
It does take some getting used to. I've adjusted our pickup to use the gate as advantage. I head at them then turn with the gate and swing the boat around in front of them, kinda like a dirt bike slide stop 180..
Thanks for the tip, I will give that a try.
Came with the boat, matching one next to the driver, love them both....
I am currently using a ratchet strap to secure it to the tie down on the opposite side. I have some ideas for version 2 and am hoping I can eliminate the strap. I do not put it on until we are ready to surf, either before or after the bags a re full. I have both regular and goofy riders, the ability to switch is nice, takes about 2 minutes to unhook, remove and replace on the opposite side.

Strapless...
I just use one turnbuckle
A friend of mine made this ghetto gate for his 12 Mojo. I thought it was pretty clever to make it this way so you can use it for both sides. It might add some structural support as well. We tried it out last weekend and the wave had awesome push but it wasn't very tall. Wake plate was up and the rear 1100s were filled about 90-80 and the center was full. No passengers. I have a few extra sacs to bring along this weekend. How should we weight it with the ghetto gate?
Now I plan to make one for my boat!

My LSV version 1 is above, am revising into version 2 as we speak. I found the best wave overall came with all bags full. I run 800lbs in each rear, 400 in the floor and 550 in the bow. I was at least 90% in all bags. I now have a few extra bags to play with but have not added them in yet.
waiting to see Version 2....sooooon.. have my HDPE ordered and waiting arrival, then build build
As much weight as possible with the boat fairly level front to back. A little bias to the surf side. Keep the top of the gate just above the water line when moving.
