Here is the Kicker 6500 system with the extra mids that I installed.

Now I can't keep up with the big boys but it still rips.
I think as a direct competitor of Mikes Liquid Audio (even though we are in different parts of the country) and as a 35 + year veteran of the mobile electronics industry, my opinion is worth something. I highly recommend Mike.

E4Nash and GA-LSV05,
Contact Chris @ AVC Marine in Buford GA. He might be able to help you guys with a demo and answer any and all questions.
A brand pissing match was NOT my intention...oh well. I will have to hear it myself to make my decisions and I suppose if I can't hear it that will make my decision a little easier...
Tim, thanks PM sent.

This is a great thread! Seems like a lot of respect from everyone, please keep it going.
I didn't want to junk it up but since I'm here...the JL 7.7's are great too!

I'd be happy to do a side by side comparison.

this is a thread from earlier in the year when I got to visit Earmark.

I absolutely LOVED being able to hear for myself the differences between the speakers. I know this was a controlled environment versus outside & on the boat, but at least I knew the variables and that it was a level playing field.
On a positive note, nash, seems like my problems were the only issues anyone here has seen with either brands gear

OK, before this goes too far off track, please review the OP's original post.
Please - maufacturers, dealers, installers and those that can't keep this nice . . .

Seems to be a legitimate conversation thus far.

Yep, it is.
Let's keep it that way.
I'd be curious to know why someone sticks to a single brand for everything?
most every mobile audio vendor out there makes good stuff, but I have yet to see a company that excells at every category from subs, amps, tower speakers, conventional "in boat" speakers, hu's and wiring.
brand "x" makes good stuff, but great tower speakers, and brand "Y" makes amazing subs but good tower speakers, why the loyalty to a single brand?
it's not like they are paying us to install it(in most cases :) )...
Let's arrange to meet at this place and make an educated decision

Sandm, i could be wrong but i believe each brand has its own "style" or its optimum range may tuned a little different than another.
Dustys boat has a more unison sound than mine does. Of course running and amps make a difference but it may play some role?
I have several different brands.

I just like all my gear to match.
My experience with either brand. I have a full exile system and on my original cabin speakers the exile logo faded in the sun and turned some weird rust color. I contacted exile and received not only new speakers but the newer updated M series.
I also had a horn go out in an xm7 and they promptly replaced that as well.
I believe Brandon zubke has a horn in one of his rev 10a go out as well and wetsounds promptly replaced it as well.
I had a ws420 and like 3/4 of the led back lighting on te knobs went out. Not sure if it was water damage or what.
My budy has rev10s and they sound pretty amazing. Never heard xm9s to compare

Looks like all exile gear is on sale at earmark 30%off

So that's two dealers I have seen that quit selling exile... What's the deal?

Lets not speculate here. Send a PM or call the dealer directly.
No problem

I once saw a video about an exile custom sub enclosure for moombas. Is that still around?

Brian isnt making them anylonger, that was a project that started on my boat back in 2010, i think he has a couple left over sitting at the shop, i might be down at Exile tomorrow for a bit, maybe today if Brian needs me there for something but i doubt it.
Now a days he will refer you to a builder in your area to build you a box if needed.
The guy he had building boxes went to do other things so he steped out of box building.
Could you let me know if there is one laying around the shop?
