I asked and they didn't have any for my 1 5/8" Rad-A-Cage tower

The girl I talked a couple months back said the blem sale was due to possible fadeing if left in the sun.
Even if they fade, it would be easy to repaint them or plasti dip em
Boat sits on a lift under the boat house cover when not in use but I agree that painting or refinishing in some way wouldn't be the end of the world. I just re-finished my tower speaker cans this year. From pitted aluminum to semi gloss black enamel. Can't wait to get everything installed and the season to start.
Those of you who bought the monster racks, How well do they fit your rad a cage? Did you have to use an insert to get them to hold tight? I'd like chrome but black may be OK on my black and yellow boat.
I shimmed the mount with a random piece of rubber.Attachment 17202Attachment 17203
i just looked on there(monster) site and all they have now is the silver and at 239$( non pivot)..still not bad..i might pick up 2 soon

What were you guys using to shim the mount to the tower? I bolted mine on and when I put my boards on, had issues with the mount swiveling around.
Any little piece of rubber, cut in small strips, lay it inside the bracket, then crank down on it till she's good and tight!

not this particular one, but just so you get an idea... any rubber coupling will do then you cut it what ever size you need
I cut this down and wrapped it around...

thanks...going to make a run to home depot today. Parrot I like what you did with the AC tubing for the surfboard rack. Noticed when I put a wakeboard in there, issues with it sliding around and slapping on the bottom board.
Wolfman or someone in this thread mentioned it, pool noodles...
Not sure what type of wake boards or surf boards monster design engineers use but the wake board rack is too small and the surf rack is too big.
For $125? I can deal with it... :)
where the heck did you find a black or gray pool noodle!?? Only pool noodles I see are neon colors, blue, green, pink etc. I'm thinking some AC insulation like this would work on those forks.

And yeah at $125 a pop I can deal with it too. I wish I could mount the racks higher like moombadaze, but the combination of my Z5 rack and Rev 10s wont allow it.
Yep - that would work too. Look for the pipe insulation in about a 1/2" or so. I'd look for the uncut or unspliced so it will just slip over and you won't have to deal with any sticky mating edges.
I found different thicknesses of pool noodles too. Wally World, Target, etc. Mine HAD to be yellow though
Pipe insulation at Menard's.. :)

Are the stock forks a Monster product, or did those come from another company? The forks on these Monster racks look very similar, not to mention they are sized for the elongated oval bar that are on the stock towers (the somewhat newer stock towers that is).
I noticed today the color is starting to fade on my racks... They still work great and still a great deal for the $$$...
Just noticed one of the pins for the lever started to come out. Still a great deal..

Some of the allen screws on the racks started working loose. Loosened all the screws and squirted in some Loctite. Anybody else having issues with some of the screws loosening up?
