I too have been busy building all fall and up until now. 30x 50 shop for me and the conversion of our attached garage into a hair salon for the wife. So glad I have a place to get my boat out of the weather and keep it nice and dry. My garage is almost complete, next weeks projects include sealing the floors, and stone masons finishing the front of my building. Put vinyl shakes on it this week, the million trips up and downcthe ladder damn near killed my legs.https://i.ibb.co/P1jhpdy/20230328-165421.jpg

Stone masons finally finished the front of our house too, wife is happy to have her salon finished and working, its nice for her to have place thats all her own and her clients have been nuts over it. https://i.ibb.co/z6MNhN0/20230329-201111.jpg
As far as the boat goes, it sucks that my tower is inches from clearing door and I have to lower it my old garage had and 18 ft door and I had no worries of hitting tower. These doors are 12w x 10 h another 2 inches qould have gotten me in.
2" ? Man! That's a bummer. And that's my sort of luck. Let some air out of your tires! Ha! Ha!

Yeah 2 inches sucks but its still better than my boat sitting outside.
Just remove the light on top of the tower.
Unless you boat at night it isn't required.
You should make a little notch in the building at the top of the door for the light to go through! LOL! Really, you are right. It beats being in the rain/sun year round for sure! Lowering your tower is a minor deal.
