You can always make them an offer for a bit less so you have some room for unexpected repairs if they arise. I don't know of too many people or places that list their lowest price as a starting point. Unless they have some immediate need to sell. There are always exceptions. Look up other sources, iboats, only inboard, boats.com etc. For similar boats and prices. Of course condition is a big factor! It appears to be in good shape considering the age.

Since it’s on consignment, my bet is that they’ve set a number, and the dealer will be taking 7-10% of the purchase price.

I should clarify. the outback will create a wave to surf just like our launch20 did. very similar hulls. my point is more if you can pony up or search for a larger boat, long term you will be money ahead. there are countless stories of guys just like me and assume htfit as well that started out in the smaller hulls and went larger. for us at our ages now(mid 40's and 50's) we would be happy to tool around in an outback and get an ok surf wave but 15 years ago when we went out multiple times a weekend with larger crews, the larger hull was something we wished we would have done from the start. would have saved us the upgrade coin, made time on the water a whole lot more "spacious" with a bigger boat and not have bags everywhere.Quote:

3 years ago when I bought my 1 owner 04 with 212 hours on it, I paid $16,000 from the dealer that sold the boat originally and did all the maintenance over the years. They also had a very similar model to the one you are looking at that was $23,000 with close to 500 hours. It was in pristine condition and the dealer had replaced every necessary hose and belt, etc. Now, I know things are more expensive in California, but that is overpriced in my opinion.
