I always thought the phantom (just purchased on a whim visiting the dealer for anew actuator) was more like the aku with the nose cut off.... need to check this swell board out before I commit to it.

I tried the Aku last friday it’s so much more buoyant than my skim board I could not get it submerged to get started. I was tired and in cold water so hoping I do better next time.
Use the heel tip method to start. If you are trying to stand on it before you get going, you’re going to have a hard time.Quote:

Yes my driver was inexperienced, wasn’t getting the right amount of drag , either too much or none at all.
We just got a Gnarlwhal Slingshot used for $200 and love it.
