I have them and they've worked very well. Running with large mud tires makes them almost a necessity. Just buy 2 hitches if you want to swap back and forth easily.

Also built my own. Stainless tubing, stainless hardware, and forklift mud flaps from Grainger. Into it for about $65 total.

I also made my own. Aluminum angle with stainless hardware and semi truck mud flaps turned sideways. The nuts/bolts in stainless cose the most! I have since painted the lower metal piece black.

I also have the Rock Tammers. They are a absolute must for towing a boat with bigger tires. I have hade mine for 3 years and they had held up very well. To me they don't look that bad with out the trailer. Mine go on first boat outing and stay on tell the boat gets winterized.
I use the Rock Tamers you pictured, I actually think they look pretty tuff on the rig, and it lets people know you actually use the truck for something other then you want to drive a big ass diesel LOL.
In GA I keep mine on all year with the big hitch, already had the Vette totaled from someone rear ending it, then someone backed into Claudia's car and caused the paint to wrinkle a bit.
A month after the Vette got rear ended on my way to work another young girl rear ended the truck. Luckily I had the hitch on it. She now has a big hole in her bumper.
People in GA are always in a rush to get to where they are going, tailgate like no bodies business and aren't real good at using the brakes LOL.
I thought in GA it would be more laid back. Get rid of that target bumper sticker on the back of your cars!
I use the Towtector and love it.

I have also used the Towtector for years. It has done a fantastic job of protecting my boat.
Big thanks to everyone for the input, I deal with enough redneck wisecracks to fab my own setup...with all the adjustability, I ended up snagging a set of Rock Tamers off Amazon.
