If your kit comes with a mounting product, it will be 2 part, 5 minute epoxy. That is the product that manufacturers will use if you order it through them. Other product can/will work, you have to ensure there are no air pockets in the mixture. The sonar will not transmit through the air. You have to have the boat in the water for it to work properly. Air pockets in the "glue" can also cause problems in the readings.
