Uhhhhhh... I'm sure there are lot of us that can relate to that pain.Quote:
DOES THE SPENDING ever end ?
I added up my to-do list the other night with ballpark prices and sat back with a jaw dropping 'gulp'. :(
Actually looked at marine batteries last night locally ranging from $90 for a nice group 27 starting/deep cycle to $250 for an all out gell cell (group 29?). Group 24 were a bit cheaper.
I've never looked much on-line for batteries because I'm sure the shipping cost would be a killer!
are group 24s okay to use ? I have been told to get group 27 but the are a bit larger than the 24s. my boat has a dead 24 in it now and it was working fine so it makes me think that if I had two I would be okay.
I'm no battery expert but I'm sure you can use group 24 or whatever your budget will allow. As I understand it, the larger sizes, group 27, 29, etc. will have more reserve & capacity, but not necessarily more cranking amps. Bigger batteries will be able to power your stereo better/longer when the boat is not running.
Dano, I live in Memphis. Who did your stereo work?

Gotcha...I work in Collierville. I've heard good things about him over there. I run around with the guys from Soundwaves so if I don't do it myself they usually hook me up pretty well. Where do you usually take your boat?
