Grew up on the water until around middle school age when my parents sold our Thunderbird Falcon 2270. I was always into cars after that point, then late in college in my early 20s I sold a Mustang GT I had and had the cash in hand to buy my first boat:
1996 Rinker Captiva 232 cuddy. It had a 454 Big Block and Bravo III and would run about 65! I bought it in northern Michigan somewhere around 2008 or 2009. Was a solid very well kept boat that didn't show its age at all. My girlfriend (now my wife) and I spent many long weekends staying on the boat for a few summers then life got in the way and we found due to our new jobs it wasn't getting used much so I sold it and got back into the car thing. I ended up with a C5 Corvette and later a C6. Always missed having the boat so last summer I sold the C6 vette and bought a much cheaper 03 Mustang Mach 1 and had the cash freed up to purchase my 2nd boat: 2012 Moomba Mobius LSV. Purchased off a friend and got an excellent deal I couldn't pass on. Now with 2 young kiddos I feel this is a much better use of a monthly payment than the vette was!
