shredded impeller.....what next?

So we got on the water the other day and almost immediatley got a warning about engine temp. shut it down and decided to pull the impeller and check it. Sure enough it was destroyed. Only 2 yrs old. Luckily I keep an extra onboard so we were back in business in less than 30 minutes and the boat ran great for the 2 days on the lake after. The real question is what about all the bits and pieces that came off? do I need to remove all the oil cooler or heat exchanger hoses to see if they are stuck there? What do you guys think? By now everything is most likely in the lake and gone. Just watch your temps and you are probably fine.
