Transom camera not working.

We finally were able to get our new SL out yesterday. For whatever reason our tower camera works fine. However when I switch to the transom camera i just get a black screen. Has anyone had this issue before? I checked the wire connection in the surf locker and it seemed fine.
I also noticed when sitting in my garage and powering on the key the speedometer will cycle up and then go back and stay at 8.3. Does this seem normal? I didn’t notice any issues with it when operating yesterday. I wonder if maybe it’s because there is no gps signal in the garage.

Camera is likely unplugged/loose at the vision screen controller, you should be able to see the camera cables under the dash. The cables are fairly well labeled.

Speedo should go to zero. Odds are next time out, it will correct itself.

Got underneath and found the leads. I swapped them and the tower camera worked fine even with it showing it was transom camera. More than likely the actual camera itself. Suppose I’ll call the dealership and set up a time.

Good deal, at least you got it isolated to the camera or the cable.

My transom camera failed also last fall, It was covered under warranty. Took it in and got boat back in one day, dealer had cameras in stock which tells me this is common.

I wonder if what you saw on your screen was the speed set on a profile — was zero off engaged?

Otherwise, as like Larry mentioned, I hope it resets for you!

Our transom camera had a bad seal and filled with water and condensation. Dealer had to order one, took a couple of weeks to get, and 25 min to change out. All under warranty.

They are a low end camera, resolution is like a car back up camera from 2010.
