Axle replacement for 1998 Boatmate single axle trailer

My bearings went out on my 1998 Boatmate trailer carrying my Moomba Outback on the way back from the lake the other day. A retired boat trailer mechanic happened along to give me a hand (yeah, I know. what are the odds). After quite a bit of work he determined the bearings had damaged the axle and it needs to be replaced.

I've contacted Boatmate and they've been quite helpful with the bearings, but I'm trying to find out what axle is on this trailer. Unfortunately, they're going to have to go back to paper records to retrieve any information, which will take some time.

I thought some on this forum might have some experience with replacing an axle on an older Boatmate trailer and be able to point me to a parts supplier.
