2004 Mobius LS Resurrection

Here is the story, I am sticking to it. :confused:

My dad Picked up a "freshwater" 2004 Mobius LS with the Indmar Assault 310 in it basically sight unseen for right at $22,000 around this time last year. The motor hull had 3xx hours on it and the motor had been replaced or rebuilt early on in its life. Overall it was pretty clean, a little dated looking with the faded yellow and gray upholstery and the heavily faded grey carpet. The stereo had 6 JL mx650 cabin speakers, 4 Wetsounds Icon 8 tower speakers and a single JL 600 6 Channel amp driven by a Sony head unit. The remotes were the old white aftermarket ones that had gracefully faded to look exactly the same color as a prosthetic limb or an early 90's compaq presario.

The boat ran SLOW which turned out to be a combination of a bad center ballast fill valve, a very crusty carb, ancient spark plugs, bad fuel pressure switch (which left me stranded) and a bum fuel pump. After replacing the plugs, pump and switch, and removing the center ballast bag (temporarily) the boat ran okay for the rest of the summer and we got some good use out of it.

The Mobius looked great from the dock and once it was "fixed" it towed fairly well too.

The drivers seat was way too low (I am 6-0) so I had to resort to the "bro sit"

It was nice to get some riding time in even though the rest of my family was neglecting the poor girl which became my problem again.

To make things a little more modern I ended up installing some LEDs in the little side pockets, the rest are on order now. I was really happy with how they came out.

That is basically how it ended up when the Mobius was put away for the "winter"

Unfortunately, due to the lift being too low, Texas's weird weather and the rest of the family neglect that I mentioned above, this is what happened.

The carnage from that mistake as of yesterday, I spent a good deal of time removing these items for replacement, not fun when there is pond scum remnants on the carpet...

Keep us posted. This is kind of a reclamation project as much as anything. Sorry to hear about the bad stuff.

Thats just straight up bad luck. Looks like youre on the right track. Hopefully things will turn around for you and the Mobius.

Part of the replacements have arrived, more on the way soon.

How are the repairs going? Hopefully no other problems were caused due to our weather lately. I see you refer to the bro sit. I just started a thread about using a suspension seat base. It is going to solve that issue and ride nice too.
