Surf Mod
Had a few extra hours to kill so I tried this. I have been reading on this and other forums that the swim platform created issues when trying to surf. I know from my experience in boat racing that a channel that will introduce air int the water will create a "softer" water. here are the first pis of the project, i will take more and upload them later.

looking good, cant wait to see the finish product first hand.
btw, the video on the phone was really pixally, real hard to see anything in detail.

I like it, curious as to how it affects the wave. Did you do any foam and silicone trials before hand? Or straight to foam and glass?
-
Straight to foam and glass. Never even filled the ballast before hand.
With racing and building race boats I learned a lot from several of the top performance boat builders and went right to the finished product.
Hope it worked if not I'm not out much

How about a product materials list for those who may want to duplicate. You could be a trend setter.
-
Did you take photos or video of the wake before the mod. I've thought about doing this for years. fingers crossed.

The OBV will fit in one of the bays of my garage, the others are too long.
Plus if I want to do other things I have other boats for that so I didnt want to spend the extra money, Im cheap...
-
How about glassing in lead around the channel, dual function.

FLTH2O
Lead would make the platform very heavy and I have no idea what it would do to the mounts, besides then it wouldnt be removable for any other activities
Here are the last of the pics, finally uploaded them
