Boatmate trailer axle failure
I know there’s some other threads on this, but just a heads up if you own an 2008 or so Moomba. Our boat generally sits on a lift at our cabin and is only trailered to get winterized in the fall. I know it’s 12 years old, but it’s in perfect shape, stored indoors year round. We had the torsion axle fail, resulting in a $300 tow and close to $2000 with shipping for an axle replacement part. Worse yet it’s been 3 weeks and the part isn’t even in yet. I’ve been shopping a little for a new Moomba or Mastercraft, curious if there’s a better brand trailer or if you can trust a new Boatmate trailer?

It’s stays at our cabin and generally is only towed to take the boat to get winterized. Think they know they have a faulty and potentially dangerous part on that years trailer.
I wouldn’t get too upset about a $500 axle replacement on a 12 year old trailer.
You can swap it out yourself. Not that hard.
All said, in better economic times, a company may be more generous, but you are out of warranty. Companies are tight right now.
