Starter bendix

Cab, here is something i've been curious about for 10 years......how do you grease the starter bendix. I've read it in the indmar manual but have yet to find an answer. maybe a call to indmar...or someone have the answer?

It is refering to greasing the shaft in the starter that the gear travels on when you start the motor. With the starter off you will see a gear that moves forward toward the flywheel on a shaft that engages with the teeth on the flywheel to turn the motor over when starting. You should be able to turn the gear one way so that it moves forward and then grease the shaft.

If one is to do this, I would recommend disconnecting the battery.

I was curious where this was, and was curious how important it was. Not sure really, as the only place it's mentioned is in the Indmar manaul...
