New to the forum and am looking at purchasing a '99 Moomba Outback. Can anyone give me the good, bad, and ugly regarding this boat? Any known issues to look out for? Going to go and look at the boat on Thurs. From the pictures I have seen, looks like the boat has been used in saltwater (some rust around manifold/riser connection etc.) Thanks for the help.

It's a buyer's market right now. I'd stay away from ones that have been run in salt water. You should have a choice right now.

Are you speaking of the exhaust manifold? If it os rusting there, that may not be an indication of salt water usage. My engine is rusting there, and mine has never been in salt water.

NC,
The rust appears at the joint between the exhaust manifold and the riser. Judging by the looks of the trailer, this boat has definitely been in saltwater. However, the boat is a '99 and the seller is wanting $5500, so it might be a good deal.

Um, at that price if it runs it is probably great.
