Hey everyone, I saw a few old posts about the rattle from the swim deck, but didn't really get too much from them. I have the typical rattle from the swim deck when the boat is in the water and waves come. It's not a thing, but I was curious if anyone has tried to put a spacer of any kind between the swim deck brackets and the boat brackets. I was thinking a piece of a bike tube or something soft like that.
Anyone have thoughts on this??

An easy fix for this is toilet shims, wedge them down inbetween the bracket from the topside and it will eliminate all the upward movement. Its a $3 fix that works great, and will also help eliminate you shearing off your pins because of the excess movement. They can be knocked out when you need to remove the platform. You can purchase these from any local hardware store. Get the hard plastic ribbed shims, not the soft plyable.

That's an awesome idea. I'll have to pick some of those up before the weekend and give them a go. I have to take the platform off each time I park the boat in the driveway, so something easily removable is perfect!!

Something else to check, is the platform level? Mine wasn't and it was obvious when viewing from the rear. One bracket is lower than the other. I actually placed a 1/8" piece of black HDPE between the bracket and platform, cut to the shape of the bracket to correct it.

You mean level Port to Starboard, or Bow to Stern?

Sorry, stupid question - I thought about it for two second and realized the answer...

If your platform rattles now, wait until you've been surfing a while. Mine gets louder every year :(
