If you can put a slight turn in your run it can help with the curl. We usually have no problems going straight though.

conserve the good water, go straight!

Actually jjolson is right, a slight waveside turn will enhance the wave and help extend it as well.

With me it depends on the boat I'm behind. LSV can go straight line, LS need to have more of a turn to the wake side.

If a rider is going out the back, a slight turn can help them get back into the pocket.

We tend to straight line it but when we have to turn around we always turn into the wake slowly as long as the rider can handle it. We tend to start our turn a while before we have to so we don't turn to sharp and kill the wave.

Ive noticed when we turn the wake gets soft and It gets harder to surf go straight or slight turn to the right and its a fast hard wake

We only surf off the left side of the wake too

Exactly Ed and if your lake is big enough with good conditions and you just happen to have light traffic you can actually make a complete turn with that 5 degrees for endless riding, assuming you or your rider can stay up! We were able to do that at Shasta this year a few times but it does take a lot of room to pull off.

Wish we could do that slight turn on our lake--we have to make 3 sharp turns and its a pain, dang near loose the wave
