Oil Pressure

02' Outback DD with Indmar Assault (carb).. 221 hours.

My oil pressure gauge only reads 20psi with 40psi being my mid-point and 80 being topped out..

With the irregularity of the guel gauge - I'm wondering on the reliability of the oil pressure gauge. Where does your assault motor sit as far as psi? Am I low? Should I be concerned? Is this normal? Is this just another junk gauge?

Jeff, are you saying at idle its 20psi,cruising at 40psi and wide open its 80psi ?

No sorry. At cruising it reads 20 psi.

I was just trying to explain the range on the gauge for those with different models..

From my research on here - it seems like the OPSU often goes on these.

Seems low to me. Maybe put a mechanical guage on it to check and make sure its accurate.
