I just bought a brand new 2008 Moomba Mobius XLV with the 340hp v8. We started wake surfing after about 15 hrs and after we rode for about a hour, two or three people surfed, I went to give it gas to pull some up it hesitated and so I gave it more gas and it would not accelerate and then about 3 or 4 seconds later, it just went full throttle. After riding around for about 3 or 4 minutes pulling the rider I hear a loud clunk, almost like a transmission slipping and then it started to slow down and then it accelerated again, since perfect pass was on. I then stopped, we loaded to rider in, I started heading back to the dock and it ran perfect. I took it in for the 20 hr check up, the changed the engine oil and filter, fuel filter, v-drive and transmission oil. We went out again this weekend and it did it again, but it only does it when wake surfing, it we are skiing, wake boarding, wake skating, tubing or just cruising around the lake it does not hesitate or clunk. What is wrong???

I would ask your dealer if one of his techs can go to the lake with you for an hour and let them experience it first hand. From the hesitation you described I was thinking fuel filter, but the clunk? That can't be good. Taking a tech out with you is prob your quickest path to a solution. good luck.

What problems have you heard or have had? After I get going I do not have any hesitation, it is pulling the surfer out of the water when I get the hesitation.

I just had a new fuel filter put in at the 20 hour service, so it is not that and I am confused about the clunk also, it almost feels and sounds like when you let out the clutch on a truck and drop it.

OK, I will try that, what will make that difference? Everyone told me, unless you are skiing, to use MPH for wake boarding and wake surfing...

Something about the placement of the paddlewheel seems like waves get channeled under the hull and bugg it out at low speeds.Ours is set pretty mild/slow to make changes so it doesn't screw up that much anymore.

I left the blower on all day boating, both yesterday and on Thursday and I got a slight hesitation every once in a while, but no clunk, my service department told me to do that, he said the boat might be getting to hot, so it seems to work, now my perfect pass just went out, so now I need to get the boat in the shop for that, I only have about 30 hours on the boat.
