Here we go. post to this link if your in on the group buy. I have contacted Chuck at Sea Dek and if we can get 8 buyers the price for a new pad will be $176 rather than the regular price of $220. This is a 20% discount and doesn't include tax or shipping.

Check this post to keep up to date with the details of the group buy. I'll post here or pm you to get your real names for chuck.

Thanks

is it hard to pull off the old pad?

No. Let it sit in the sun for an hour and it comes right up. What you can't get up by hand - use a dull scraper and some goo gone.

Took me 10 minutes to get it off.

Now I'm just waiting for mine to show up so I can install it!

I'm definitely in. My factory black pad looks great and is not slippery at all, but it gets black residue on hands, feet, anything that touches it and then the black gets on the upholstry. I've tried armor all, 303, everything in my wifes cleaning closet to treat the pad to stop the "tracking" nothing works. So a new pad is a must.

We've got 5 people I think. The sooner we can get 3 more the sooner we can all have new pads.

Chuck at seadek is at a show for the rest of the week and will get me the details on monday. I'll post the details as soon as I hear from him.

Thanks

Count me in for one! It's never really been a (big) issue until this year. The swim platform gets a lot of sun exposure at our new marina slip causing it to really rub off on everything it comes in contact with. I have no doubt this will be money well spent. Thanks!

Well, I am new here and do not even own a Moomba YET, but I am interested in this GB.

Question - I notice there are a few different Sea Deks to choose from on their site. Will the GB participants be able to pick which one we want, or will the GB be for one particular pad?

I will PM you my personal information here shortly.

Yes each buyer will have to call and talk to Chuck. Chuck will ask what pattern, Moomba, Roo or blank, What color you want, see site for listing, and then he will process your order.

The group buy is more so you get a discount because i dont think Sea Dek keeps a large stock on hand, Chuck said he was MAKING the order and it took a week to make the pads, when 3 to 4 days shipping time.

I would go ahead and take lead on this is i was you TSC. Also start looking for another person.

You can still call chuck give him everyone's names. Everyone can call chuck and get there orders in now. What will happen is as soon as you get the 8th confirmed with Chuck he will start the order.

Chuck wont charge you until he starts the order, and as the last one i did about 4 more people ordered up to a week after we sent ours in and Chuck still honored the 20% off.

We need to get everyone to contact him so that production can begin. If you have trouble contacting him, email him and he'll get back to you, If you don't hear back, check your spam folder. For some reason yahoo was putting his emails in my spam folder rather than the inbox.

mmandley
08-02-2009, 02:09 AM
I dont think there is a benefit or a downfall for a 3 peace. I think its just preferance.

It might be eaiser to install a 3 peaqce as its not as heavy but you do have a lot more measuring and linning up because all three parts need to match. I went with the 3 peace mainly because Claudia likes the look and it gave her a chance to put her stamp on the deal.

No i didnt make it to the PDX event i have been working 13 hour nights all week. I herd it was a real big event this year and a lot of cool things. The events realy didnt get going to mid afternoon and went into the evenings and with downtown parking the way it is on fridays and event saturdays by the time i got some sleep, drove there, got to a decent spot it would have been 3 or 4 pm and i would have had to leave in time for work at 7.

It's much softer and more comfortable. It's more durable as well. This one is a no brainer.

Razzman
08-12-2009, 11:09 AM
The stock colors can be seen right here on the front page; http://www.seadek.com/

They can do custom colors and designs but expect to pay more for what you want, see below the custom Tigé platform in multi colors featuring Bob Marley!

Black is black and it's going to get hot no matter what.

These are like having a tempurpedic bed on your platform, extremely soft on the bod yet durable.

I've had mine two seasons and don't regret the decision one bit.

New SEADEK looks A -W - E - S - O - M - E - !!! It feels great to, non slip cleans right up after dirty feet, ( my kids play on the beach then ski off the beach. the water doesn't get all the "dirt" off. but it doesn't stick to the seadek.

great product, glad I did it, NO MORE BLACK RESIDUE ON THE UPHOLSTRY.

Its easiest if you get the old pad off on a day when the sun is shinning and can heat the deck up.

If you don't have that option and heat gun on the bottom of the deck or a good hair dryer. You need to get the old glue heated up to help get the old pad off.

After that the new pad goes right on.
