I have got a 2000 Kamberra V-drive with the the Indmar 310 carb engine, roughly 300 hours. While the boat idles fine and seems to run smooth, it doesn't seem to have much power and is slow to get on plane. Seems like it use to have a lot more power and has gradually gone down. Not sure if the carb needs rebuilding or if it could be something else. Any idea?

Thanks,

Chris

To see if its the engine do a compression test to make sure the engine is making good pressure. Then you can change the fuel filter, cheap check. If the carb hasn't been rebuild id recommend looking into that or replacing it all together.

Generally a lack of power is due to low fuel or low engine compression that cant burn the fuel it has in it.

This is one of those problems that could be anything ... fuel, fuel transfer, combustion, transmission or electrical. The problem with self diagnosis is it can cost you much more in the long run than taking it to the dealer to begin with as they have the know how and equipment not to mention the knowledge to tell you right off potentially saving you big bucks.
