Ok, since the Atlanta Jam was cancelled we'll have a Jam at Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville, GA!

A few of the Florida folks already have plans to come up the 2nd weekend in July. So, for any of those interested, we'll have a Jam on Saturday, July 11th. :p

Following are a few details about Lake Sinclair for anyone that wants to travel in for this event:

located in Milledgeville, GA - 15,000+ acres of water and 417 miles of shoreline. often cited as "the cleanest lake in GA"

http://www.georgiapower.com/lakes/Sinclair.asp

lots of hotels on the West side of the lake close to GA Power public boat ramps which require a nominal daily fee.

there are a few islands on the lake that people do primitive camping on. these islands offer some great spots to hang out and enjoy the lake. they are located close to the Sinclair Dam & Baldwin County Airport (for those looking on a map)

If there is enough interest, I'll get my new grill (w/ 28 hamburger capacity) fired up and we can get together for some fun & fellowship. I'll also post a time for the Moomba & Supra owners to meet at a location for a floatilla & see how many we can get in line.

Feel free to post or PM me with questions!

Is this a thing with Atlanta jam always being cancelled. I thought this also happened last year?

nope - Atlanta Jam was a hit last year! I think the economy is catching a few in a tough position.

Hey Wolfeman, why don't you add the Lake Sinclair Mini-Jam to the calendar? See Sept. 5 for an example. Just click on Calendar above and then "Add New Event". Fill in the info and the date. Presto! Let me know if you need any help.

Saw some last minute interest in the Sinclair Jam, so bumping back to top.

For anyone that wants to meet up, be at the Sinclair Dam area around Noon on Saturday. We'll float and play for a bit, then head back to my place for burgers & dogs. Please send me a PM so I can be sure to have enough food. You'll need to bring your own beer!

Not too much beer though as this is a family event. I won't tolerate any obnoxious behavior around zegm's, kaneboats', moombadaze's or my children.

Let me know if there are any more questions.

Great times with some great folks on some great boats!

The Sinclair Mini Jam was a Blast!!! We had 3 days of FUN, FUN, and more FUN!
Wolfeman and his family were OUTSTANDING HOST!!!!!! We skied, we surfed, we wakeboarded, we kneeboarded and yeah we tubed!!!! We fished, we swam, we ate, we even watched outdoor movies.
I spent over 140 dollars in gas in our boat alone we were on the water so much!!!!
Kaneboats and Moombadaze brought their boats and with Wolfemans Moomba we had 4 Pretty Blue Moombas tearing up lake Sinclair!

I really want to thank Drew and his family for going out of their way to make this a Great mini Jam you guys are Awesome!!!!
Thanks to Pat and Stacy for bringing their families that really made this one great family event. We had 12 kids from 15years old to a little over 1 year old and each and everyone of them had a Blast!!!

Again my family wants to thank everyone for making this a Fantastic event!!!

I have to echo the sentiment. The Wolfepack was extremely fun to hang with. To anyone that missed it: so sorry you were not there. We truly had a blast for 4 days. We have a whole bunch of new wakesurfers now. We saw old friends and made new ones. We had the aformentioned huge group of kids and I think there was one tiny argument the whole time. Thank you all for participating and for all the extra effort and for your commitment to family and raising intelligent, well behaved kids. Pictures coming soon. I am wiped out.

After this weekend work is going to be just that WORK.

what i saw while on the water for 3 days.

The boat score
moomba's in the jam
mine-blue lsv
kaneboats-blue outback
zegm-blue ls
wolfman131-blue outback v
not part of our mini jam but seen being used-
orange and gray lsv -with a orange tower
red and white lsv
red outback
black supra

other brands-not towing anyone or anything, just cruising
white and red mastercraft x2
yellow x30
and one correct craft
older ski brendella

I'd say Moomba's ruled the lake.

We did very little skiing. My twin boys are still learning and I didn't always have a photographer. I didn't get a chance to ski myself. My oldest daughter did try to slalom with the zegms and then using my ski the last day. I don't think this was reaching for the buoy though:

Wow Great Pictures!
A few comments are in order here:
1.) Yes I was eyeing a Moomba towel!
However I decided I liked my other towel better as you can see!
2.) You can see a slalom ski on our Z5 cargo rack so we did ski some
3.) Unfortunately I pulled a couple of tubes with the boat, a round one and one made by Oscar Meyer (however this was the FIRST TIME!!!).
4.) I noticed that where ever my son was there were usually 3 cute little girls in the same area!
5.) My wife the skier did ski behind Kaneboats Outback and said the wake was almost the same as the wake behind our LS. This is for those interested in an LS for skiing purposes.
6.) Kaneboats looking at the picture is appears that maybe your oldest did get up on the slalom ski?
7.) Finally, sorry we have no pictures as for some reason we left the camera on land everyday. Actually we left the camera in Georgia and now have to find a way to return and get it!

Well, if by "up" you mean butt out of water and standing then yes she did! Now to say she "rode" the ski might be a bit of an exaggeration. Even on a bull you have to go for 8 sec.

Pat,

Ginny and I are really proud of her! Most kids who wakeboard don't have a desire to ski, especially when they discover how difficult it is to get up on a slalom! The fact that she tried this again with you and did get up is Great even if it was for a short run! I don't know if you are aware of this but after we worked with her Ginny got on her slalom and I am sure she was impressed and wanted to try it again.
Please tell her we are proud of her and it will be even easier next time!!!

kaneboats
07-16-2009, 10:19 AM
I'll do that. Thanks for the kind words and support as well as the time with her and the boys. She started out with pairs skis several years ago. She did not do very well and fell a lot. I let her try the wakeboard after she asked me (I didn't ever wakeboard at the time). She got up immediately and loved it and vowed she would never ski again. I have talked to her for several years about participating in all kinds of watersports. But it wasn't till this trip that she wanted to give it a go again. I wonder if her Godmother (my cousin Kate) has something to do with her desire to ski?

This is Kate on a ski:

That MC is about a early to mid 80's Stars and Stripes!!!!
It has the same hull as our 75 model but with the new square windsheild, ours had the round one. Before I had our MC painted it had the same scheme only the stripe was the rare green. Ginny got so mad at me that we didn't paint it back original! But when it was going to cost about 3k to do it I just couldn't justify it. That is a great slalom course boat, NO WAKE!
Your cousin and Ginny are alot alike! Does she still have that boat?

Yes, she just got it about 1-2 yrs. ago. She bought it from the most meticulous anal guy you ever met in your life. It is in absolutely showroom condition. That picture was from last summer.

Kate and I used to fight over who would ski first when we were teens. My uncle's old I/O and then the old jet boat were not the most reliable things so you always wanted to go first or you might not get to go at all. After law school she joined the marine corps. So she can whip you verbally or physically and she can shoot too. We went to college together in Carbondale, IL. I'll never forget when she got a boyfriend with a boat. We wouldn't let her break up with him till winter. Dang it, now you got me missing her.

You and Kate part of the reason that the administration finally banned Halloween at the SIU campus?

kaneboats
07-17-2009, 12:00 PM
HA HA! I transferred in about the time of the ban, not before. It's funny but Halloween was a great time after all the outsiders quit coming in and wrecking it. But Springfest was twice as good. I visited one time for Springfest. There was snow on the ground in Chicago when I left but in Carbondale they were wearing shorts and having a carboard boat regatta. I was hooked!

I don't know. Can we stand one MC? Wonder if she would tow it down from Virginia Beach? Then again, we easily had enough room for two more. Maybe she and John would just run down without the boat. You guys would love them. Kate's husband John is from PA and was the first one to ever hand me a Yeungling.

We certainly can stand a classic MasterCraft, in my experience when I owned one was that if you didn't have a new or almost new MasterCraft then the dealers and other owners wouldn't even look at you! In other words I got worse treatment then than I do now! I think the Moomba's are so pretty they have to look!
Besides we sort of have a link if you will, just look at the rudder on her boat and tell me what you think? :)

OK I HAVE NOT TAKEN NOR DID I EVER THINK ABOUT TAKING ANY BRANDED TOWELS FROM THE MINI JAMBO!!! Why would I want one of those when I have my Arial!

One more thing, we were going under the US Hwy 441 bridge and had to lower our tower several times. We put towels on the side of the hull to keep from scratching the paint while we did this. After putting the tower back up I accidently knocked a BLUE towel over the side. I was amazed at how fast that towel sank! GONE!!!

I am lost to what happened after I left?
A Moomba towel is missing?
A MasterCraft towel was spotted?
A towel sunk (besides the one I dropped by the bridge)?
Drew is looking for mask and snorkel?
Catfish were caught?

So I guess I am just clueless and Moomba towel less!

A towel sunk (besides the one I dropped by the bridge)?
Drew is looking for mask and snorkel?
Catfish were caught?

So I guess I am just clueless and Moomba towel less!

Arial's ok? are you sure?

yep a Moomba towel is missing

MC towed was used-but only after all others were used

Yep, I think I left the above towel on the tower to dry off-wind blew it overboard-they sink fast, It happens

Yep, Drew being the Man he is, offered to go for swim to look for sunk towel.

Z what is with you and towels, first SC won't send you one because your Z, then you get harassed about a disney towel not appropriate for a grown man, and now your claiming it's missing? Dude we need to get together and sit down and talk this one out before you get banned from all further functions :)

Sled,

Yeah it has been difficult lately! I think maybe on Labor day we should meet at a place called the Flint River and we can discuss all my issues with towels? Also it would be a good time to see some alligators! OK Pat says there are none or not many here (Flint river side of Lake Seminole) but a short trip from there (Chattahoochee side of Lake Seminole) and I can show you a couple! I will bring the kayaks so we can glide up on them!

Sled,

Thanks for the advice!
Apparently I should have put my post in the "Joke of the Day Section!"
Well I didn't and I got "slapped" but it wasn't really that bad (the post)!?
I know I am on the "black list" for recieving email notifications but apparently when I post there must be an alarm going off somewhere to edit and censor whatever it is I write!
I'm Good!!!! I got friends!!! Maybe I should write a country song!
