View Full Version : Atlanta Jam was cancelled so come to Sinclair!

06-12-2009, 12:24 PM
Ok, since the Atlanta Jam was cancelled we'll have a Jam at Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville, GA!

A few of the Florida folks already have plans to come up the 2nd weekend in July. So, for any of those interested, we'll have a Jam on Saturday, July 11th. :p

Following are a few details about Lake Sinclair for anyone that wants to travel in for this event:

located in Milledgeville, GA - 15,000+ acres of water and 417 miles of shoreline. often cited as "the cleanest lake in GA"

lots of hotels on the West side of the lake close to GA Power public boat ramps which require a nominal daily fee.

there are a few islands on the lake that people do primitive camping on. these islands offer some great spots to hang out and enjoy the lake. they are located close to the Sinclair Dam & Baldwin County Airport (for those looking on a map)

If there is enough interest, I'll get my new grill (w/ 28 hamburger capacity) fired up and we can get together for some fun & fellowship. I'll also post a time for the Moomba & Supra owners to meet at a location for a floatilla & see how many we can get in line.

Feel free to post or PM me with questions!

06-12-2009, 01:11 PM
I'll be there! Come join the fun!!!!!!!!!! I like to Moomba, Moomba!

06-12-2009, 01:58 PM
Is this a thing with Atlanta jam always being cancelled. I thought this also happened last year?

06-12-2009, 02:01 PM
nope - Atlanta Jam was a hit last year! I think the economy is catching a few in a tough position.

06-15-2009, 11:17 AM
We were there last year:

06-16-2009, 11:16 AM
Hey Wolfeman, why don't you add the Lake Sinclair Mini-Jam to the calendar? See Sept. 5 for an example. Just click on Calendar above and then "Add New Event". Fill in the info and the date. Presto! Let me know if you need any help.

06-16-2009, 11:29 AM
Hey Wolfeman, why don't you add the Lake Sinclair Mini-Jam to the calendar?

kaneboats - it's done!

06-19-2009, 09:06 AM
Anybody else gonna be there? EdG? Maxpower? ChiliX? What ever happened to Swampbuggy?

06-30-2009, 10:53 AM
Saw some last minute interest in the Sinclair Jam, so bumping back to top.

For anyone that wants to meet up, be at the Sinclair Dam area around Noon on Saturday. We'll float and play for a bit, then head back to my place for burgers & dogs. Please send me a PM so I can be sure to have enough food. You'll need to bring your own beer!

Not too much beer though as this is a family event. I won't tolerate any obnoxious behavior around zegm's, kaneboats', moombadaze's or my children.

Let me know if there are any more questions.

07-07-2009, 10:53 PM
we're getting close to kickin' this thing off, so one last bump to the top for anyone that wants to join us!

07-09-2009, 08:52 PM
So close yet so far :(

07-13-2009, 07:16 PM
I'm sure plenty of pics to come soon, but just a quick THANK YOU to the Kaneboats, Moobadaze and Zegm clans for joining us on Sinclair! The Wolfe family now has caught the surfin' bug and I'm going to be dropping a few $$ by next weekend so the kiddos will be happy.

Great times with some great folks on some great boats!

07-13-2009, 08:22 PM
The Sinclair Mini Jam was a Blast!!! We had 3 days of FUN, FUN, and more FUN!
Wolfeman and his family were OUTSTANDING HOST!!!!!! We skied, we surfed, we wakeboarded, we kneeboarded and yeah we tubed!!!! We fished, we swam, we ate, we even watched outdoor movies.
I spent over 140 dollars in gas in our boat alone we were on the water so much!!!!
Kaneboats and Moombadaze brought their boats and with Wolfemans Moomba we had 4 Pretty Blue Moombas tearing up lake Sinclair!

I really want to thank Drew and his family for going out of their way to make this a Great mini Jam you guys are Awesome!!!!
Thanks to Pat and Stacy for bringing their families that really made this one great family event. We had 12 kids from 15years old to a little over 1 year old and each and everyone of them had a Blast!!!

Again my family wants to thank everyone for making this a Fantastic event!!!

07-13-2009, 08:37 PM

Thanks for the kind words. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope everyone else did too.

BTW, Stacy says he is one Moomba towel short and is pretty sure he saw you eyeballin' it over by the grill . . .

07-13-2009, 08:51 PM
looks like fun. wish we had that much interest out here locally....
several moomba/supra boats on the lake, but don't think many are on here..

07-13-2009, 08:55 PM
Moomba Towel?
What Moomba Towel???

07-13-2009, 09:16 PM
It was just GREAT to see all of you. Thanks for a great weekend! Lets do it again soon.

07-13-2009, 09:19 PM
I have to echo the sentiment. The Wolfepack was extremely fun to hang with. To anyone that missed it: so sorry you were not there. We truly had a blast for 4 days. We have a whole bunch of new wakesurfers now. We saw old friends and made new ones. We had the aformentioned huge group of kids and I think there was one tiny argument the whole time. Thank you all for participating and for all the extra effort and for your commitment to family and raising intelligent, well behaved kids. Pictures coming soon. I am wiped out.

07-13-2009, 10:20 PM

Lets just say that Ginny and I were totally worthless at work today! So yes we understand.

07-14-2009, 08:36 AM
After this weekend work is going to be just that WORK.

what i saw while on the water for 3 days.

The boat score
moomba's in the jam
mine-blue lsv
kaneboats-blue outback
zegm-blue ls
wolfman131-blue outback v
not part of our mini jam but seen being used-
orange and gray lsv -with a orange tower
red and white lsv
red outback
black supra

other brands-not towing anyone or anything, just cruising
white and red mastercraft x2
yellow x30
and one correct craft
older ski brendella

I'd say Moomba's ruled the lake.

Pictures soon....

07-14-2009, 12:30 PM
I'm sure there will be lots more photos to come but this had to be the shot of the weekend (starring zegm):

07-14-2009, 01:47 PM
that maybe the best pic, but I have confirmation the the zegm LS actually does pull a tube . . .

07-14-2009, 02:27 PM
Speaking of tubes, one of my favorite pics: How many girls does it take to tube Sinclair?

07-14-2009, 02:55 PM
didn't we have 6 on that tube at one time?

how 'bout "new friends?"

07-14-2009, 03:05 PM

Hey, Kaneboats - Where are the skiers? Isn't your's the Outback? I want to see some skiing! - Deerfield

07-14-2009, 08:09 PM
Some more of the weekend and hanging with Drew:

Dad it's morning (uggghhh):

Drew showing Tanner how to fish off the dock:

WOW! Catch of the day!

07-14-2009, 08:13 PM
Drew's kayak was a hit with all the kids and most of the adults tried it out too.

Giving the little prince a ride.

Group shot on the stairs before we left (thanks so much Drew & Allison for making it such a wonderful time!)

Hey, Kaneboats - Where are the skiers? Isn't your's the Outback? I want to see some skiing! - Deerfield

We did very little skiing. My twin boys are still learning and I didn't always have a photographer. I didn't get a chance to ski myself. My oldest daughter did try to slalom with the zegms and then using my ski the last day. I don't think this was reaching for the buoy though:

07-14-2009, 09:33 PM
Kaneboats - Beautiful! I'll take it. I say she's doin' 22' off at 34 mph. Just missed the 5 ball. Can't see it in this shot 'cause it's buried under her hip. Congrats to your daughter and thanks for posting the pic. - Deerfield

07-14-2009, 09:33 PM
Deerfield, Kaneboats pulled me skiing behind his boat. It was a great ride. But...no pics.

07-14-2009, 09:35 PM
Kaneboats, she ALMOST got up a couple of times behind the LS. She will get it soon! Tell her to keep trying!

07-15-2009, 09:21 AM

That is a great idea!

07-15-2009, 09:37 AM

That is a great idea!

I'll second the move to families as it was a family event.

07-15-2009, 10:55 AM
I was thinking something like that yesterday. We just started throwing 'em up here but I really should have started a Sinclair pics thread over there.

Edit: Oops! I guess it's "over here" now. Thanks, Ed!

07-15-2009, 12:25 PM
Yes this is the place to be! Well actually in was on Lake Sinclair last weekend.

07-15-2009, 12:38 PM
Wow Great Pictures!
A few comments are in order here:
1.) Yes I was eyeing a Moomba towel!
However I decided I liked my other towel better as you can see!
2.) You can see a slalom ski on our Z5 cargo rack so we did ski some
3.) Unfortunately I pulled a couple of tubes with the boat, a round one and one made by Oscar Meyer (however this was the FIRST TIME!!!).
4.) I noticed that where ever my son was there were usually 3 cute little girls in the same area!
5.) My wife the skier did ski behind Kaneboats Outback and said the wake was almost the same as the wake behind our LS. This is for those interested in an LS for skiing purposes.
6.) Kaneboats looking at the picture is appears that maybe your oldest did get up on the slalom ski?
7.) Finally, sorry we have no pictures as for some reason we left the camera on land everyday. Actually we left the camera in Georgia and now have to find a way to return and get it!

07-15-2009, 02:23 PM
Mike, Hey it was good to see you and the family. We will be looking for you at the Flint river jam.

sad news--lost one of my Moomba Towels to the bottom of the lake I believe.

07-15-2009, 02:52 PM

I'm getting my scuba gear and/or some kind of hook to try and find it this weekend. Will let you know if I have any luck, but I have a suspicious feeling I am too far North to find it . . .

07-15-2009, 02:54 PM

That is a great idea!

Thank you Ed. This is the right place. Hope to have more pics of more people from the Sinclair Jam II!

Tentative plans are for the weekend AFTER July 4th again next year.

07-15-2009, 03:33 PM
Tentative plans are for the weekend AFTER July 4th again next year.

I like your thinking:D

Last night Laurie was asking me if there was anyway we could afford a place up there. Did I mention how much we enjoyed it up there.

07-15-2009, 04:15 PM
6.) Kaneboats looking at the picture is appears that maybe your oldest did get up on the slalom ski?

Well, if by "up" you mean butt out of water and standing then yes she did! Now to say she "rode" the ski might be a bit of an exaggeration. Even on a bull you have to go for 8 sec.

07-15-2009, 10:38 PM

Ginny and I are really proud of her! Most kids who wakeboard don't have a desire to ski, especially when they discover how difficult it is to get up on a slalom! The fact that she tried this again with you and did get up is Great even if it was for a short run! I don't know if you are aware of this but after we worked with her Ginny got on her slalom and I am sure she was impressed and wanted to try it again.
Please tell her we are proud of her and it will be even easier next time!!!

07-16-2009, 10:19 AM
I'll do that. Thanks for the kind words and support as well as the time with her and the boys. She started out with pairs skis several years ago. She did not do very well and fell a lot. I let her try the wakeboard after she asked me (I didn't ever wakeboard at the time). She got up immediately and loved it and vowed she would never ski again. I have talked to her for several years about participating in all kinds of watersports. But it wasn't till this trip that she wanted to give it a go again. I wonder if her Godmother (my cousin Kate) has something to do with her desire to ski?

This is Kate on a ski:

And this is Kate behind the wheel (just for you Mike):

07-16-2009, 12:48 PM
I am sure she did!
That MC is about a early to mid 80's Stars and Stripes!!!!
It has the same hull as our 75 model but with the new square windsheild, ours had the round one. Before I had our MC painted it had the same scheme only the stripe was the rare green. Ginny got so mad at me that we didn't paint it back original! But when it was going to cost about 3k to do it I just couldn't justify it. That is a great slalom course boat, NO WAKE!
Your cousin and Ginny are alot alike! Does she still have that boat?

07-16-2009, 12:55 PM
I like Kate.

07-16-2009, 01:51 PM
Yes, she just got it about 1-2 yrs. ago. She bought it from the most meticulous anal guy you ever met in your life. It is in absolutely showroom condition. That picture was from last summer.

Kate and I used to fight over who would ski first when we were teens. My uncle's old I/O and then the old jet boat were not the most reliable things so you always wanted to go first or you might not get to go at all. After law school she joined the marine corps. So she can whip you verbally or physically and she can shoot too. We went to college together in Carbondale, IL. I'll never forget when she got a boyfriend with a boat. We wouldn't let her break up with him till winter. Dang it, now you got me missing her.

07-16-2009, 05:12 PM
Holy Crap!!! You guys had fun:) And lots of it, wish we could of made it, but thanks for the invite all the same.

07-16-2009, 08:26 PM
Why the heck wasn't Kate at our Jam?!?!?!

This is a formal invite for her to join us next year. I'll even take her out shootin' some machine guns, if she wants.

07-16-2009, 08:30 PM
Holy Crap!!! You guys had fun:) And lots of it, wish we could of made it, but thanks for the invite all the same.

We did have a lot of fun! :p

We got back to the lake house last night and we were all looking at each other today and said "it sure is quiet . . . "

it's too quiet. the noise last week was a good noise. lots of good conversation and laughter - from the kiddos and adults. can't wait until we do it again.

07-16-2009, 09:13 PM
We went to college together in Carbondale, IL.

You and Kate part of the reason that the administration finally banned Halloween at the SIU campus?

07-17-2009, 12:00 PM
HA HA! I transferred in about the time of the ban, not before. It's funny but Halloween was a great time after all the outsiders quit coming in and wrecking it. But Springfest was twice as good. I visited one time for Springfest. There was snow on the ground in Chicago when I left but in Carbondale they were wearing shorts and having a carboard boat regatta. I was hooked!

07-17-2009, 12:07 PM
Why the heck wasn't Kate at our Jam?!?!?!

I don't know. Can we stand one MC? Wonder if she would tow it down from Virginia Beach? Then again, we easily had enough room for two more. Maybe she and John would just run down without the boat. You guys would love them. Kate's husband John is from PA and was the first one to ever hand me a Yeungling.

07-17-2009, 01:43 PM
We certainly can stand a classic MasterCraft, in my experience when I owned one was that if you didn't have a new or almost new MasterCraft then the dealers and other owners wouldn't even look at you! In other words I got worse treatment then than I do now! I think the Moomba's are so pretty they have to look!
Besides we sort of have a link if you will, just look at the rudder on her boat and tell me what you think? :)

One more thing, we were going under the US Hwy 441 bridge and had to lower our tower several times. We put towels on the side of the hull to keep from scratching the paint while we did this. After putting the tower back up I accidently knocked a BLUE towel over the side. I was amazed at how fast that towel sank! GONE!!!

07-17-2009, 02:23 PM
I agree bring on Kate and her MC. Nothing wrong with it. That is a sick looking boat.

Zegm, You should have seen the towel that I used for my last swimm monday morning--it was the only one that was still dry.

07-17-2009, 04:42 PM
Uh oh! The catfish is let out of the bag.

07-20-2009, 12:22 PM
Ok so what am I to understand here, there was a Moomba Towel and it was owned by one person and then used by another and then it sunk???

07-20-2009, 03:58 PM
Zegm, nope. I have/had towels with different manufactures name's on them. I did own a 94 prostar 190.

07-21-2009, 10:13 PM
First: Me and Arial are fine!
I am lost to what happened after I left?
A Moomba towel is missing?
A MasterCraft towel was spotted?
A towel sunk (besides the one I dropped by the bridge)?
Drew is looking for mask and snorkel?
Catfish were caught?

So I guess I am just clueless and Moomba towel less!

Arial's ok? are you sure?

yep a Moomba towel is missing

MC towed was used-but only after all others were used

Yep, I think I left the above towel on the tower to dry off-wind blew it overboard-they sink fast, It happens

Yep, Drew being the Man he is, offered to go for swim to look for sunk towel.

Catfish?? guppies?

07-22-2009, 07:57 AM

Thanks! I am no longer confused!
Oh the catfish, Zachary caught 2 off drews dock and I saw others were caught after we left. Next year FISH FRY!!!!
Oh, I think MrsZ hid my Arial towel!!! :(

07-22-2009, 08:43 AM
Next year FISH FRY!!!!
Oh, I think MrsZ hid my Arial towel!!! :(

After seeing the size of those fish cought--we might all loose a few pounds, LOL.

Arial, where O where are you???

07-22-2009, 10:22 AM
I am sure it will turn up somewhere.

07-22-2009, 05:15 PM
I don't know about that MrsZ can be very jealous!!!
I guess I should ask drew to get out his mask and snorkel again! :D

07-23-2009, 08:13 PM
Z what is with you and towels, first SC won't send you one because your Z, then you get harassed about a disney towel not appropriate for a grown man, and now your claiming it's missing? Dude we need to get together and sit down and talk this one out before you get banned from all further functions :)

07-24-2009, 11:31 PM

Yeah it has been difficult lately! I think maybe on Labor day we should meet at a place called the Flint River and we can discuss all my issues with towels? Also it would be a good time to see some alligators! OK Pat says there are none or not many here (Flint river side of Lake Seminole) but a short trip from there (Chattahoochee side of Lake Seminole) and I can show you a couple! I will bring the kayaks so we can glide up on them!

07-25-2009, 12:07 AM
I will not forget my 9 either:)

07-25-2009, 12:27 AM
I have the 9 but I have nothing to put in it!
You have 2x my posts?????

07-26-2009, 05:19 PM
Hey what I can I say, I was not a victim of the cleansing of 09 :)

07-26-2009, 06:44 PM
I lost 2 more yesterday! I am going in a negative direction here man while you are building an Empire of Posts! :D

07-28-2009, 01:01 PM
Z stick with your friends :)

07-28-2009, 01:14 PM

Thanks for the advice!
Apparently I should have put my post in the "Joke of the Day Section!"
Well I didn't and I got "slapped" but it wasn't really that bad (the post)!?
I know I am on the "black list" for recieving email notifications but apparently when I post there must be an alarm going off somewhere to edit and censor whatever it is I write!
I'm Good!!!! I got friends!!! Maybe I should write a country song!
