I've seen posts where first timers complain that everyone on here has problems with their boats. Some of us have tried to explain that you don't see posts stating that she ran great all weekend. Owners tend to post mostly when they are looking for some help with a problem. This thread is for people whose Moomba performed and ran great all weekend, starting with this evening through Sunday, June 14. If she ran like she's supposed to run let's hear about it. Feel free to post pictures of your boat or your group having a great time. Everybody have a safe and fun weekend!

Edit: Please, everyone chime in even it's just a real quick "Ran great!" I'm curious as to how many this will be. Thanks!

:cool:2002 Outback LS,had since new in 02

hmmmm..

so true..
'06 supra launch 20ssv.
bought with 90hrs as a skiers choice demo boat and the 20ssv brochure boat.

had the standard issues with vaporlock a couple of times, now know how to keep it from happening and been free of it since.
second time out, dead and couldn't get it started. 30 minutes dead on the lake, panic set in, then realized the boat wouldn't start if the throttle was not in neutral :)

otherwise at 214hrs now and not one single problem other than normal maintenance and some wear/tear. happy overall with the brand and would consider myself a satisfied skiers customer.

08 LSV Mechanically its ran awesome every time. Never a doubt when i put her in the water and turn the key.

Only issue new was a burned fuse for the heater system.

Now with 25hrs and the 20hr service done its time to really open her up and make her mine.

I have not had a mechanical failure on a boat since 1998. That is 1 Malibu, 2 MasterCrafts, and 1 Moomba. Malibu had some interior issues covered by warranty. In fact that is the only time I have returned a boat to a dealer since 1996.
That first boat 1987 Magnum Skier had some issues due to my inexperience.

This is a great Thread. You started this today and we are allready to three pages. We have a lot of happy Moomba owners (no one should ever question that).

Went out this last weekend after installing a new PP computer and worked like a champ. No issues except driver trying to start with her in gear . Had another great weekend on the lake and looking forword to leaving tomorrow for a week on the lake with her.

my 08 OBV runs like a champ everytime out 'cept the 1 vapor lock issue.

Razz, I think I've solved that one by using the blue-colored marine Stabil formula that claims to help with the ethanol.

Friend of mine was on the boat last weekend and kept saying, "Dang, you can just feel the power this boat." We love our Moomba!

Well i guess i don't have to worry, we don't have ethanol in California. Dumb me i bought a flex-fuel truck before checking. Which brings up after the fact why they even sell them here?

I just don't get the State of California . . .

alternative marriage is OK
alternative medicine is OK
but no alternative fuel?

just kidding! loved my visits out there and who am I to talk? the peeps in GA can't find a way to keep their #1 cash crop (peanuts) from infecting the entire US!?!?!

I wouldn't lose any sleep over not having e85. you'll notice a big drop in fuel economy, and if your truck has 50k miles or more, once you switch, you will have some maintenance issues. e85 stirs up all the sediment in the tank. 2-3 fuel filters in the first 500 miles once you switch. I did 2 in my ford ranger.
only plus side is the octane rating.
several of my buddies are swapping pumps, lines and injectors and retuning their turbo 4bangers to run e85. it's like racegas at the pump....

Hey no foul Wolf, let's face it California is a jacked up place period! :( If i had my way i'd be outta here but with the economy the way it is it's not feasible to even think of selling off. oh well ...

we have had to moombas in the last 10 years one 1999 outback till last year and now a 2008 lsv mobius we bought last new both have been great.we put 70 hours on the lsv last year and plan on putting many more this year. never a problem best boat on the market for th price. we had a funny thing happen this past spring during a scary event. we had a tornado touch down near our town . it made state news and my oldest son was away at colege. he heard the news and called to check on us. after he found out we were ok the first thing he asked about was our boat.he wanted to see if i had gone out to check on it in the storage unit. i told him i hadnt and he told me i needed to quickly because he realy loved that boat. that is a true moomba man.....

For some reason i thought Cal was pushing the E10/E15 stuff. It is right up their ally on how they like to act before looking into an issue. Then we have Oregon that takes the bad ideas of Cal and thinks they are good ideas.

Yup this is a lame law, with the economy slowed down the gas stations fired off the fuel jockey and now you can be sitting for 10 or 15 minutes waiting for those guys to come around.

I still do the same ole, get out, swipe my card, open the truck fuel door and cap. Then i patiently wait 1 minute, if there isnt someone there i grab it and pump it myself. Some stations are getting smart to us doing this because they require a password to start the pump even after the card clear.

All this started because back in the early 80s there was a job shortage, and some A-Hole thought it would be cool to not pump his own gas. So they made a law that all gas stations pump the gas in you cars. I swear i grumble every time i goto the pump about this. I can pump my own gas, wash my own windshield, now stop touching my rig and go chew your bubble gum already.

Now with the boat its stop asking me 50K questions about wake boarding and if i will take you lol.

got the same thing a couple years ago when I stayed in portland to have my last evo tuned. every young kid pumping gas had to ask 50 questions. annoying at best. can only imagine having to deal with it day in and day out..

60% chance of thunderstorms all weekend long here. no chance to see if it'll start. 4day camping next weekend though, so lots of use coming up, and I'll bet money it'll start every time the key is turned, just like always..

We went out with 11 people on Sat. (lots of smaller kids) as my cousin and his family were in town. They learned to wakeboard and wakesurf. The Outback was absolutely perfect all day. My cousin grew up around boats and was extremely impressed with every aspect of mine and kept asking questions about Moomba. Here's a picture of him on his first day of wakesurfing:
