I know they are not as bad as last year but they seem to be on the way there. This morning on my ride into work all the stations in my area went up 11 cent over night. How can they justify that much. Looks like they are on a roll for 3.50 - 4.00 by midsummer at this rate. Gas was 2.54 this morning and 2.43 on my way home yesterday.

Yup happens every summer for as long as i can remember. They know people drive more so every year it's another lame excuse, wonder what it is this year?

yeah, filling up the tank it probably the worst part of boating. Gas was up to $2.69 this morning, and I'm sure it will rise another $0.10 by this weekend. Still much cheaper than last summer, but having it raise almost $1.00 more in just a month is frustrating. Just have to suck it up I guess.

It did slow us down some last year with high gas prics but it didnt stop us. We had to cut back to about every other weekend at the lake house when it was at 4.00/ gallon. Hopefully it wont get that high this year because I enjoy being at the lake every weekend.

Yea gas prices here are on the rise too. A few weeks ago it was 2.25 reg and 2.35 for mid grade < boat fuel >

Now the reg for the truck is 2.49 and the mid grade for the boat was 2.59 and its rising of course.

Labor day weekend, there was a price war on the way to the lake.. filled up for $2.09 for Regular.. got as low as $2.03.. Lake gas was $2.56 for 87 WITH Ethanol (only option is gas station off the lake).
BUT war was over yesterday.. back to $2.40ish. still better than last year, but wish we could have stored up a few 55 gal drums over winter!

Yea wish we could stroe some fuel too. We have a ton of room for it in the back.

Hey is everyone running 89 or better fuel?

I run 87 in the rig.

I run 89 in the boat. I only use Chevron gas.

only 89 or greater in the boat. here in florida we only have gas with 10% or less ethanol now so i use the blue stabil to help with that.

Its a big upgrade for me. I had a 1998 outback to start with and then bought this 2003 ssv from a friend who bought it new. I purchased it from him last year for a great deal and the boat only had 120hrs on it. It was also always keep in a climate controlled garage. It is loaded with everything you could get then.

We hit 2.50 yesterday for 87 with ethanol. I suspect it will be around 2.75 this summer.

Washington State residents can get refunded the road taxes from their fuel purchases. You have to be fond of collecting lots of receipts and do the paperwork and you don't get it all back as the State charges the sales tax in lieu of the road tax. I know people who do it and I know some that throw in a few other gas receipts.

I have my mother-in-laws CC# memorized.:p
Even if she knew she wouldn't mind... I don't think.
Hey! How else am I supposed afford all my mods? Gas is expensive!!

Ok I'm kidding. But I always ask her to go cause she always pays for gas, brings extra beer, and she makes for good ballast.;)

Dang Newty i need some people like that on my boat crew or just the CC number. well i don't know if i would accept the person filling up the tank since that can get spendy fast.

Generally for peeps tipping money into the boat jar, i will hit the gas station on the way out of town. If they offer to pay then i say, let me fill it up and on the way home if you want to pay you can refill it. That way they are realy only paying for that days events.

I never expect or ask for tips to the boat fund, if i invite you i expect to foot the bill but then i don't say no if your offering LOL.

Mike,

I am kind of the same way. Tips are not required but if you give good tips you will get invited out again. No tips then you might be not be comming out for some time.

Yup, when gas is expensive certain grateful people can get moved higher on the phone list. I filled truck and boat yesterday in GA where it's .13 cheaper and it was 2.45.

2.47 here in boise.

I will invite anyone once, and if they don't offer up something, either gas money or food/beer, I don't invite again. fortunately, almost everyone that has come has offered. I don't always take them up on it, but the offering is what we are looking for. respect of your time/money/equipment..

We are at about $2.89 on land, I paid $3.59 on the water on Saturday. Much better than the $5.50 on water and $4.50 on land last year!

On the water? I'm assuming your water says in the water for the summers? Other wise having a hard time understanding why you would buy fuel on the water.

I have yet to even see fuel at the water here. I have seen a few gas stations on land near the water, and of course there prices are pretty steep.

Yea, I keep my boat on the water. There are actually 2 stations on our lake (about 1,400 acres). We usually bring gas cans, but this weekend mid-day I was running low and didn't feel like getting off the water.
