Posting Pictures

To post pictures I would recommend getting a free account at www.angelfire.com for web space. Because I know that works. You get 20mb of free space with that account. When you register at angel fire you have to pick a user name and a folder the username goes on inside there server. For instance my user name is chris_5 and I picked the extreme4 folder so my user name is /extreme4/chris_5 So to upload pictures to the server I use a program called SmartFTP which is free http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2160-10190184.html?tag=lst-0-1 When you have downloaded that, installed it, have a angelfire username, and a pic or whatever you want upload than open up SmartFTP. At the top of the screen where it says address at the right, type in the blank: ftp.angelfire.com at the login blank just to the right type in you user name, mine would be /extreme4/chris_5/ .Just to the right of that is the password blank and type in your password. When you are done with that either hit enter or hit the connect icon just over where it says address and under where it says file. It is the icon that looks like the computer with a little star thing in the corner of it. Once you are connected a new window should pop up. Once the window is up do a right click on the open space of the new window. A menu should pop up then go down to upload>Direct>select files a new window will come up to browse for file. So find the file click the open button on the window. When you see the file name in that blank spot then are good to go.

So if I uploaded a file called 04moomba1.jpg then the address for that would be http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/chris_5/04moomba1.jpg .To get that to be viewed as a picture on the OpenBB when your posting click on the “img” icon and put in the address for the picture then click “ok”

you should now see

So when you are done with your post and it is posted you should now see the the picture that was just linked. The file names that you upload are case sensitive and can not have spaces in them. If I upload the file 04moomba1.jpg I have to type that in exactly the same it can’t be 04Moomba1.jpg or 04moomba1.JPG it has to be exactly the same. If they fix the browse button then you would not need to do this. Sorry this is so long winded. I hope you understand what I am saying. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.

P.S. I just found out from posting this that the file types have to be in lower case like my file was picpost1.JPG and it said invalid image but picpost1.jpg works just fine.
