I have been looking for a nice used Moomba Outback for sale and found a dealer with a used 2005 Moomba Outback listed for 26,900. Blue book values is no where near that and the boat only has a boat cover and wakeboard tower, no speakers or racks on it. Does this seem high.

You should ask about the hours and the service records. Remember that list price may not mean sales price. Better make sure you get a trailer too.

Another way to see about fair prices is to the the Boat Trader.

Look at the boats in your area of the same or very simular models. It will give you a range of prices to be looking at.

Or go and write down everything you see. Type of stereo, tower, speakers, amps, < how many > sub woofer? Ballast system? Engine size, hours on boat, trailer, single or duel axle, Perfect Pass or Moomba cruise, depth gauge, temp gauge, anything you can possible think of and you can bring it here and post it and or use the Kelly Boat Blue Book and it will help determine the value.

There are a lot of people here that can help you asses if the proposed price is fair or out of line.

rescue - I have an '07 Outback. Ordered it at the boat show. It's loaded and I have the price breakdown detail for all of the add ons I ordered. Let me know if you want this information for comparison purposes. Price at that time for the just the boat and trailer was $26,950. - Deerfield

I believe that you can find a newer boat for that price. If you like the boat and like the price, then it is all up to you.

Let me know if you are in the northeast and are interested in a 2006. We are going to put our 2006 Moomba Outback LS on the market :D-we love it but are buying up.

My dealer has an 07 LS Mobius for just a bit more with a few quite a few more options than that. Keep in mind the LS while still a DD is a much bigger boat. Also remember in 05 EFI was not standard so look into that.

I bought an 05' Outback last summer with about 90 hrs on it for 18,900. It did not have a tower, just boat, trailer, and cover. I bought it from an individual who had it listed in the paper, not a dealer.

I had a 2005 Outback I sold in May of last year. It was pretty well equipped with 140 hours and very clean, I sold it for $28,500. Boat prices have tanked big time over the last year. You should be able to get into a nice V drive for that much money.

You can check NADA.com, they have used boat values too. It helped me a lot when I bought my 2001 Outback a month ago.

Holy Crap Pickle you did good on that. Last year my dealer wouldn't give me that on my one year old well equiped Outback on a trade:(
