Neoprene repair

I need to seal a seam in my neopren waders so my boys do't get to cold ( water temp 38) Anyone use Aquaseal? or is there something better for wetsuits etc.

I need the waders to get the docks and hoist in next weekend. I did a trial run and discovered i had sprung a leak:shock:

I tried that last year with old rubber waders, ( no success with duct tape)Hence the new neoprene waders.

I would try some rtv or silicone

Doesn't JB Weld fix anything? Can you sew a neoprene patch over the tear? Find an old mouse pad and sew it on.

How did you manage to ruin a second pair? My Neopren waders came with a standard inflatable repair kit. So you should be able to repair it with inner tube repair cement and a rubber patch

Brad, thanks for the video. the seam sealer is for rubber, that would have worked last year. They went out in the trash. Seam sealer and aqua sealer are made by the same company so the video proved the product worked and if they made one for neoprene then i think i am good to go.

Sled, no big holes or rips just seapage through the crotch area around the stiching and seams. Last years waders were REALLY OLD. I must have tossed the repair kit withh the box if it was in it at all.

JV, maybe I'd try the same seam repair or tape they use for tents seeing as you just talking a bad seam.

I have used Aqua Sealer before on the neoprene for a dry suit. It worked fine and I had no problems.

thanks for all the info, i bought some trident neoprene cement at the local dive shop. I need to locate the area of the bad seam otherwise i will brush it up and down the legs. The aqua seal and seam sealer tape look like good alternatives as well.

back at it again, put the docks in and still have a leak. need to get the hoist in soon. i have worn these four times. I have sealed all the seams around the crotch area. I poured water in the area and they drain like a spunge. what can i try befofore i toss these. i think the neoprene cells might be defective or something, can i use thompsons water seal or something. Also i had a mouse eat a small hole in the shin and the trident wetsuit repair stuff worked perfect:mad:

Sometimes you just need to move on if you get what I mean. Either you live with the leak for the couple times a year you wear them or you toss them and start again.
