My 2001 Mobius V has standard rad-a-cage tower and canopy. When the canopy is open, there seems to be enough room to mount tower speakers so they hang down. But when I close the canopy it does not appear there is enough room if the speakers were there.

Does anyone have this configuration and could you tell me if it works well??

i just recived 2-pair if 8" boss tower speakers. it's going to be tricky. if i put the on the bow horizontal bar, it might work. but i would like to try to "cut-off" the main strut bars on the bimini. this would lower it yet still be mounted in the original location. anybody think that will work?

thorjosh, i cut off 2" from each strut on the bimini to, it's easy.

1. drill-out the stamped divits, two per strut. use 1/8" bit. only drill a 1/4" in +/-.
2. carfully twist out the hinges, mine are black plastic.
3. cut off struts to desired length, you have to leave at least 3/4".
4. re-insert hinges.
5. reposition to to boat.
6. mark hinge alignment.
7. remove and drill small hole 7/16" from where you cut it off and use small stainless steel screw to hold the hinges to the aluminum strut bar, i think glue or silicane applied before you re-insert the hinges will help, but the screw will hold the pecies just fine.

this allowed me to open and use my top with the speakers which hang down about 11"
however, i did have to put them on the stern horizontal bar.
