Snap in bow covers help a lot. If you do not have that, plug the center with a cooler and a towel or two.

Water temp would be like mid to high 30's right now. I do like the idea of not falling. I guess i should work on dock starts.

dock starts ore easy enough, just sit on the edge and go, it is the landing that is hard. dry suit if you can, wet suit for sure. gloves and hat are nice too.

when you drop off, we like drop so that the boat turns back to the rider and they meet at about the same time the rider goes in to the water.

mid 30 water is ok if the sun is out.

agree with SD2, block the wind

It's the after that I would worry about. Make sure you park you baby in the garage that night so that you don't end up with any freezing water messing up your block or gauges.

I'm trying to get out this weekend myself with similar temps, but mother nature is not coperating and I may have to scrap my plans to ski this weekend. I sunday is even half good (no rain), I'm goin for it :)

I might have to take a road trip to shasta if the water is allready that warm. I am not worryed about after since we have only been getting into the high 30's low to mid 40's at night. It is not the planned letting go of the rope that i should be worryed about it is the unplanned of my face hitting the water that could put a damper on everything. This weekend it is going to rain but next weekend we are looking at a high of 61* and sunny.

You people are crazy! It's been in the 80's down here a few times already and I'm sure the water is in the 50's and I'm not going to get in it for another week or two.

We get most of about 7 months of the year here. I take a break for some football and Christmas. By this time I'm VERY ready to get back in though. Never winterize because we don't know if we'll get a hot day in Dec., Jan., or Feb.

Yeah, same here. It will snow one day then be in the mid 70's two days later.

You know what they say about being pissed off don't you? It's better then being pissed on! (LOL) :p That one's so old! Hey Sled, you can come on down any time and we'll take the boat out. For reals! If you make it to Texas for some reason, the trip in the boat is on me. I'll even come to where you are. (If I'm not stuck at work):!:

Phoenix is nice this time of year. I use to live in Yuma. Now that is one place that you really can be in the water all year long in board shorts!

In Yuma in the middle of summer you have to swim down 8-10 feet in the water just to cool off...and that is in the rivers. I was glad to get out of that place.
