Pools open every one in!!!

OK got off the plane friday morning, got home, went to my warehouse and hooked up the barge. Brought it home, did a quick prep, lower unit lube etc. and headed to the lake. Lake is open!!! Only ice was on my side of the Island and it was out about 100 ft from shore.

Today out at the Island all day hauling garbage across to a waiting dumpter. You could see the ice disapear. Last night it was 25 ft past my lift, this after noon it was 10 ft in front. By end of afternoon I could get barge to my permanent dock section I leave in.

My trip next weekend sledding looks to be in trouble as they are expecting rain all week up in the UP.

My shinny new Dry suit from YellowMobius's company showed up friday afternoon. I'm feeling a ski. With Scotty as a driver and fellow skier of course should he decide I'm gonna be in sooner than ever before!!

We rode around the lake today for a while then I got a quick set in. 64 surface.. not bad in shorts and a neo top!

Sled, thats great. Our ice should be gone by weeks end. 50ft from shore and shrinking. Hung some kitchen cabinets yesterday at the cottage. couple more warmer weeks and i can turn on the water. Spring is coming:D

Our lake is also completely thawed. The ramps aren't open yet, though I did see a fishing boat out yesterday. Water temp was ~40 degrees.

Sled and co I'm with you in spirit.Things were starting to look up and soft water in the future,as yesterday was a beautiful day and i was finally able to take my xmas lights down safely,from the roof and things were lookin up. Untill we awoke this morning to just over a foot of snow,which was a ton of work to shovel. So go out and enjoy ,try out that drysuit and make us all PROUD.

Not so sure about the rippin it up, but will be gald to get up. Sledin' trip looks to be 99% done. Talked to my buddies from Canada and they cancled there's to Northern MN as well.

So, Wrap won't be done or any of my other winter projects, well maybe the strainer, but I'll have her runnin by end of day friday and ready for Sat or Sun launch. We'll see which day is going to be nicer.

Scotty I'll call you this week to firm things up. Are you gonna ski? My Dry suit is an extra large, so should fit any one, and unlike my wet suits I won't be warming it up the scuba way if you get my drift. :)

Good on ya now MAN UP , and go skiing. Just get everyting ready and keep hands and feet out of water untill ready to go.Falling isn't really advised if possible. Just being out there skiing will have everyone looking anyways. People might even refer to you as one of those CRAZY CANUCKS LOL.

I was just going to say, you know I've skied (Downhill that is) with almost all but 1 of the original crazy canucks and even came from the same home town and ski club as one, Dave Irwin for those into the whole World cup scene!

But weather is looking crappy. Not that cold is a concern as we are jumping into 30 degree water anyway, just not a big fan of skiing in the rain. It's like bullets hitting you in the face and makes cleaning the boat after a biatch!

Wow ya'll are crazy though ya'll do need some catching up to do, I have been going out since early March. Water on some days is warmer than the air temp.

One of my last times out last yr was in the rain so this yr i picked up a drysit/wetsuit hood for that very reason as skiing in it gave me a really bad ear ache. Haven;t tryed it yet and vision is a little sketchy in the rain but just depend how bad ya wanna ski.You skied with THE CRAZY CANUCKS. You must be old.LOL so am i so sorry just funnin with ya.

Scotty, Deerfeild, I still willing to try next weekend if you guys are still game. If you want though we can still head over to the lake house and drink some beer and check the progress. I'll give the grand tour!

Dave Irwin and Ken Reid they are old as dirt so sorry to bunch you in with them.I can't remember just how old you are i'm 43 so no spring chicken myself,but just having fun with your thread. hopefully the skiing works out and if you can pics please. Ah Taxes, the friend of the Middle class american business owner. As I move from small to medium sized business I just feel all the love the State and Federal government have for those of us who write out paychecks for other middle class Americans and really keep the economy rolling!

I tell you what, we'll just avoid the taxes conversation on this board. If you and I want to sit out on the dock this summer with our beverage of choice and debate or pontificate the American tax system this summer I'm all in, but for now we'll just agree that it sucks:(
