I'd like to preface this by saying Laura sucks at keeping secrets. My birthday is April 4th, and I'll be 26.

Apparantly she got the idea to plan a trip to Orlando for us and get me some lessons at a wake school. She registered under a 'secret' name on WakeWorld to find out which one she should choose, and all that.

Well after having it planned for no more than 48 hours I knew something was up and she spilled the beans.

For my birthday weekend she is flying us to Orlando and getting me lessons at Otown Watersports!

I can't wait!!!

Wow...Lucky. I have been down to Otown and all i can say is you are in for a treat. You may want to start some sort of conditioning and/or training because you will ride until your arms fall off. I remember coming back home and barely being able to carry my bags to the airport. They are such a great and fun group, they treat you like you have known them your whole life. Enjoy the experience, i bet this year you will progress more than ever.

All you guys, please post the best tips you get and most important things you learn when you get back. Thank you for visiting the Sunshine State!

We are definately interested! I've only ever surfed once behind a friends Supra - I'd love to ride with a pro! Thank you for the invite, I'll message you when I get the rest of our itinerary, lol.

THanks!!!

A day with Martha and her keepers is highly recommended, crappy weather or not! My kids still talk about it and ask me every day if I've ordered a surf board for them. Time to do some shopping. :)

Ian, 4 mnths after I met my wife she took me to a Sandals in Jamaica for 7 days. It was love. This year she is sending me to Cozumel for diving for a week.

This girlfriend of yours looks like she's heading down the right path:)

Have fun, and I second Wake 08's recomendation. If you don't want to feel like an Orangotang better start conditioning soon.

No no no, not worried. I sent her to Europe this fall. No big deal, while I get your making a joke she did this because of the amount of work I have to do week in and out 7 days a week with little to no time to relax. Heck my right eye hasn't stopped twitching for weeks.

Could fix the twitching eye, but might cause the "Jake Leg" :)

From the prohibiton days when people were drinking that high test home brew. Some of it got tainted and made the person walk with a weird kind of kicking limp/strut. I quess the stuff affected the nervous system and gave you a limp that later became known as the "Jake Leg"

I'm glad to hear someone else gets a twitching eye from stress. I thought I've been having a continuous stroke or something. I haven't had it since I was in college taking final exams and suddenly, 20 years later with the stress of the economy and job cuts at work, my eye starts twitching again!

Turns out, a few beers and a cigar after my workout and some BSing with the guys had a positive effect. Laughter seems to have helped as well

I don't get the leg twitch or the eye but sometimes under stress I can't swallow anything. I was complaining to one of my brothers about it and apparently all three of them and my Dad have the same problem. Then again, if you looked at the bunch of us lately it might not be a bad thing to keep any more food from going down.

I lost 18 lbs in the last few weeks! Nice to get pants on that I haven't worn in years and years.

I don't highly recommend the diet I was on (radiation diet) :)

I'm done tomorrow. Yippee!

The real question is how long until your back on/in the water?

Ed:
Glad to hear you are done with that. My mom beat cervical cancer about 20 years ago and went through the radiation treatments. It was not pretty but she is now 80 years old and still meaner than a junk yard dog!!! I wish you the best!
