If so, how do you like 'em? Any pics of the finished product?

I'm finally starting to get off my lazy butt and look at ordering parts for my 'winter projects' and this is like #1 on my list. You went with the Abyss lights right?

I did go with the Abyss lights. I also need to get my lazy arse up and finish my projects. I have one more pump to do, the trans lights, and the cab lights. I am going to try to work on the lights next weekend. I need to pull the boat out of the garage to do this.

Ian, I just tested the light this morning. I am really excited to get them installed. They are bright. I still need to figure out were I want the switch. I was thinking of replacing the Moomba Cruise plate and switches with a custom plate with switches. One switch for the Abyss Lights and the other for the Cab lights. I might make this plate out of 1/4" marine plastic.

I'm thinking that I want to make a small switch plate for my various lights to be mounted under the dash with blue lighted switches. I'm thinking I want to be able to independantly control the transom lights, interior bow lights, interior cabin lights, light on the tower to illuminate the boat, and speaker lights. Man, thats a lot of lighting I want to put in the boat, I've got about half of them in, lol.

I also want to switch my lights independently. You said speaker lights. What do you mean? The only lights that I have so far, to add, are the Abyss Lights. I also would like to get cab lights. Not sure which ones yet. Can you show me the speaker lights?

I want to put plexi rings behind my speakers that light up. I've seen it on a few boats on wakeworld, I'll post links later.

OK Thanks. I still need to figure out how I am going to remove the Moomba cruize switches and plate and replace it with a new plate and switches for my new lights.

(I don't have tower speakers, but I'd like to do something like this on my cabin speakers.)

Now that is what I am talking about. That is exactly what I want. When you do find this, please pass the info. I just went to the link on wakeworld.com. There is an email address of a guy who makes those rings. I just emailed him for info.

OK I got a hold of both of the companies that make the LED Rings. The first Justin is from Wet Sounds. He has them only for his speakers. They come with a new Billet Aluminum Grill and cost $300.00 a pair. The second Justin, I called this morning, is from Earmark Audio in Texas. He makes them for all sorts of speakers. They cost around $175.00 Per ring fully assembled. You just need to wire it to a switch and power in the boat. The second option is not assembled, just everything you need. That is $90.00 for the ring and $45.00 for the LED lights. I have 6 speakers and might go the unassembled way. I can save $240.00 that way. Justin number is (214) 222-0974.

Wow, thats a lot more than I thought it would be. I might see what I can come up with for fabricating my own...

I agree, I did not think that they were that expensive either. Let me know with what you come up with. I will be very interested. I just might buy the rings. I deal with the LED's daily. For 12" of LED, $45.00 is a little steep.

I was following some links with regard to powering some LED's and I came across a site that where they're using the swim deck bracket to power the lights and not have to drill thru the hull. Has anyone tried this on one of the moomba's?? Is it possible? Any alternative suggestions.

Here is a clip from where I found this

Yea wire all your positive LED wires to one swim platform bracket. Then run all you neg LED wires to the other bracket. Then run a Pos to one Side and a Neg to the other side of your brackets. The platform gets the power threw the brackets. NO drilling at all.

I was on the wake world web site again and found another company in Norther Calif that makes the rings that we were talking about. Here is the link

Go all the way down to the end. There is a company called Tri City Plastics. They made the rings for about $20.00 each. I have a call into them now. They do not open until 10am pacific time. If I do not get a return call, then I will call back. I will post more infor once I get info.

Ear-Mark Audio just gave me a call. The LED Rings, rings only, are $20.00 each and have several for different types of speakers.

Very good info, I can't believe I missed that post on Wakeworld! Thats exactly what I was thinking of trying to make, but for $20 each you can't beat it. I love the cupholder rings, and also the LEDs that illuminate frosty beverages - yet another thing added to my list!

I am going to be ordering mine here next week. I am also going to send him my Moomba Pass switches and plate. I had asked if they can make a new cover for me with new switches. I am going to use these switches for the new LED lights. Since I do not use the Moomba Pass anymore, I would like to utilize this space for a much better use.
