External Remote

Hey Guys and Gals;
I was wondering if anyone has replaced the external remote for the stock kenwood CD player that came with a 2003 outback. can you find aftermarket ones? or did you just go to kenwood and order a new one?

They are WAY easy. There are 4 wires... and there is a plug connector.
There is a newer kenwood model than what is on the 03, plus there is another model from AWARE ( https://forum.moomba.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=746&d=1217117885 )
This is what comes on the boats now. I added one to my transom this summer. It was easy to do.

I picked one up from a local car audio shop for $60 bucks. Super easy install on the transom with minor drilling. From what I understand, any of the Kenwood remotes are universal.
