Met a Moomba Owner today

Well I finally got rid of my insurance guy that has been screwing me and my wife over for years. I went out today to get a new quote for boat insurance. I got a great price. It went from $1200.00 a year to $428.00 a year. Well, when I went down to sign the insurance papers, the girl that I was dealing with told me that her and her husband own a 2003 Moomba. Boy what a small world. Still great to hear about more Moomba owners out there.

I will give you the whole name. American Family Insurance. I got rid of Foremost insurance wich is part of Farmers Insurance.

You should call Ski Safe. They deal with ski boats and I have found them to be the cheapest. They were recommended to me when I bought my first inboard in 1995. State Farm, USAA, Progressive, etc couldn't come close to the price for the coverage.

I've never paid more then $400.00 a year.. I just use my home owners, but $1200!!!! OMG im sorry you've been having to pay that. I hope you havn't been paying that high of a rate for to long.

Also check out Boat U.S. for insurance. I shopped around and from them I received a lot more coverage and it was less than I was paying before. They beat out state farm, progressive and my previous was US Insurance. Altough I only user the boat at our lake it includes seatow. If your vehicle breaks down while towing the boat they will pick your boat up off the side of te road and tow it to where you want it. All included. Its a good feeling to know I am being taken care of.

I think I had always heard Boat US was only if you had a huge yacht or something. It's good to hear they have products for the ski/inboard market.

I have my supra 22ssv insured by them and my father also has his 26 ft center console insured with them. My dad has had his with them for a long time now and I just started using them with my supra.

Went to the mailbox today and inside I found an offer from Boat US for a quote. Guess I'll start there.

this is a very good project for the off season. I may have a looksy at my coverage as well. My home owners insurance just went up while they decreased the value of my house, Huh?
