Scott and Shannon-nice to meet you and the kids, hope the drive home goes well. think about Lake Lanier- a bunch of us should be camping out and having some fun. We would love for you to join us.

Ed, as always good to hang with you

moombadaze - Though the air was chilly and water was not smooth, looks like a great way to start the new year. Enjoyed your pics. Late this afternoon Mrs. Deerfield and I went to Starbucks and then to the lake to look around. The air temp is mid-teens and water temp is 32 degrees. Lots of snow and ice. On the way back I was thinking how nice it would be to live in a warmer climate. Hey, best to you for the new year. - Deerfield

enter Jealousy...
I spent last night and today in New Orleans. upper 60s probably could have pulled off a ride had I been near a boat.. my winter boat crew are all gone to Dallas to the Cotton Bowl..

Despite Jealousy, it is motivational as well...

Prior to celebrating Christmas, I generally celebrate Winter Solstice... as that is the shortest day of the year and AT LEAST, from that point on, we are headed toward longer and warmer days! Now, hopefully, the groundhog will get his shadow correct and we'll have a warm spring!

Happy New Year to ALL... Love the shot of Mooomba Martha from the other boat... nice looking boat and wave.

Moombadaze and Ed: Huge thanks for taking the Reese clan out today, it was great to meet your families and I can't think of a better way to welcome the new year. I also now have boat envy of both of you. :) Ed and Tammy (sp?) introduced us to two new pleasures in 2009, Surfing and Yuengling. Both quite enjoyable.

Ed: Please send a special thanks to Tammy for getting in the water and teaching Garrett and I to surf. We're hooked and will be doing it all next summer in MI. We just have to wait for the water to thaw out. It's going to be a long 4 months! :(

Thanks again for the hospitality. Happy New Year to all!!

Scott

-18 here (minus 18), 45" of snow thus far here. Only surfing being done is behind the snowplows.

So sorry I missed the fun you guys but we had company here and have been sick for a week. You would not have wanted us around. Glad to hear the cool temps didn't keep you away.

It was warm yesterday here too but we're looking at a cool down in the next 10 days. I'm still trying to get some support for 1/17 in Clermont.
