Question for Sled

Hey, Sled - What is the difference between a snow machine and snowmobile? Are they the same thing? If not, what do you have - machine or mobile? I heard the term "snow machine" during the recent campaign season in context of Todd Palin's racing. But the thing he calls a snow machine to me sure looks just like a snowmobile. - Deerfield

they are one of the same, but for some reason alaskans call them snowmachines everywhere else they are snowmobiles. And to me when they kept saying it on tv it sounds so weird to hear

More like Cocacola called "Coke". Maybe Budweiser called Bud.

Heck we just call them "Sleds". But all above is true, they are one in the same. When we were growing up in Canada we called all snowmobiles Ski Doos, or we would say we were going "skidooing". Much the same as KB's analogy.
