Yes I live in the desert. It gets, in the summer, an average of 115 degrees. Now today has been very weird. It started snowing at about 11:00am today and just stopped about an hour ago. Since I have lived here, I have only seen it snow two times. This has to be the longest it has ever snow. We just got 11 inches up at the local ski resort. Might not be able to wake board the stuff but I can sure ski it. Well everybody, Christmas is almost here. My family wishes and hope the everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a great and safe New Year.
Happy Holidays

I just saw that on the news. They said 3 inches on the strip. I was just out there 2 weeks ago and it was 70 and sunny. Very weird. Enjoy the anomoly. I wish it were an anomoly to get snow here in MI. :(

I was in vegas a few new years eve's ago when it snowed and the town was deserted. was kinda wierd...
my mom moved from idaho to escape the snow and lives in macdonald ranch. I laughed at her yesterday and told her she might as well have stayed here...

enjoy the snow and watch out for the other drivers :)

Enjoy your snow as i'm sure it will go away sooner rather than later.
Up here we are going through a 2nd week of -20 celcious weather with added wind chill upwards of -35 and we have gotten aprox 18 /24 inches of snow to go with it. Lots of shovelling and shiverring ,But we are Canadians and we will get over it.

Mickey, I'm heading to Thunder Bay Ont. my old home town to spend new years with our friends at a friends old family cabin. We'll be ridin our buts off and drowning a few minnows. Can't wait, and unlike the desert, the more snow the better:)

That sounds like a blast. We have friends coming from IL where there is an ice and snow storm as we speak. It's been really mild so my buddy will probably want to play golf. You can golf 2 for 1 and usually with a free cart right now b/c of the economy.

I have to get home first. The storm you are speaking of has shut down the Milwaukee airport, Midway airport and Ohare is only recieving 1 out of every 3 flights. My wife said they got a foot last night and it is still coming hard. Not expected to slow down untill late afternoon. 30 mph winds to boot!

Chicago- all that snow and no hills. Can't believe it took me so long to move away from there.

Sled i agree with you about the snow . If i had a couple sleds it would be even better as theres lots of awesome mountain riding not too far away ,but thats not the case.
right now its the temps and the wind chill that goes with it.-28 and -45 wind chill today was not fun.Inside now warm and HAPPY.

OK I made ity home. Due to my high number of flying miles I was given 1st availble open seat to Chicago. From therre I took a regional bus to a stop just 20min from my house. Now I just have to dig out of this mess :)

Glad to hear you made it home for Christmas. Now don't hurt yourself shoveling.
