I'm looking for recommendations on a shorty wetsuit for my son. The overall problem is that he is tall, skinny and still growing (6'3", 150#). That means to get the length he needs, he has to go to a xl or 2xl, which is way big on him. Given he's probably going to outgrow it in a year, needs to be an economical solution. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

I'm also in the market for a wetsuit for Christmas. I have no idea where to start and what to look for, but I would to stay around $150... I know I want the suit to have long sleeves, but I just want the legs to go just below the knees. Is that called a shorty?

I seem to have the opposite problem.

I like those but man the more I look into it. I need one made for me... I have a funky body type. I'm short stocky and I have a huge chest and shoulders... After looking at their sizing chart I've came to the conclusion that I need the X-large but I'm only 5'8 so it would be to long for me...

Some brands have a short shorty version of whatever form of wetsuit you are lookin for. I'm 6'5 an210 lbs so i need the lenght, but to get the lenght, i get a bulky suit. Shy of having one custom made ,i just live with it and enjoy the fact its better than no suit at all.

Jclay,
I have the same body type as you 5'9 about 210 and round. I bought the XL works great for me. slight bunching in the arms and legs. My buddy got the same size he is 6'2 and 190 anf fits him likes its supposed too.

Looks like I'm going to go with the exceed execute for the full wetsuit, after research it seems to be the best for the price. I'm for sure going to hit up costco for a spring shorty. Thanks for the help guys.

Hey Guys. Mark with EXCEED wetsuits here. I would be glad to help any of you out. You can shoot me an email to [email protected]

This is not the reason for my post though.

I am actually looking to purchase a gently used XLV or LSV - 2007 or 2008 model year. I would actually consider new if there were some killer deals going on now. What do you guys think?

See now all we need is a fuel dealer, a prop manufactuer, a beer supplier, and some suppliers of sun screen and we are set! :)

Sounds like your wetsuit guy is stand up Ed. I was going to add for Jclay to try some scuba wetsuit manufactuers. Pinnacle has a great size selection also. I have a similar problem with a very big chest and a shorter stature. Legs and Arms are always too long.

I was about to post a pick from a trip to the UP last weekend when I was paged to the club counter. Crap! my flight is cancelled and they can't confirm me on a flight until monday! Just call me the stand by kid. I'm now trying to get to Chicago at least! From there I can take the train or bus to within 20 minutes of my house. Man I hate traveling this time of year!!

Sled - Good luck getting into Chicago. At least it quit snowing, but the storm moving thru has created havoc all thru the system. Maybe you can hook up with a shower ring salesman and if not by plane, then train or automobile...

thanks, that's the first time I've laughed all afternoon. The dealer called about my wifes car, I'm so pissed right now you couldn't imagine. Every thing this guy says just keeps costing me money. You can't do this with out that, you should do this for that, well I said this but it is actually that, at 120.00 bucks and hour he makes me look cheap! You'd think they would have a better idea about how there own brand of car is put together!!

No biggy, I just need to bend over and pay the bill. But why do 6 spark plugs need to be 100 bucks, and why is the mechanic doing me a favour by putting them in for free, $1500 hundred bucks later.

And you know the funny thing, I told them without any investigation or fancy computer to check codes that it was probably the thermostat and temp sending unit, duh! But they needed 3 hrs to discover this!

Sled, call directly to the place's parts dept if its a dealer and ask how much the parts are.

Thanks Daze, I wonder if this a true sign of the times, getting gouged by people you business with?

I got the gladiator XL shorty for $49 in 2005. I'm 6'1" at 190lbs and would have gotten just a large if it weren't for the height. I do have some bunching in the arms and a little just above the waist... otherwise i have gigantic thighs.
