I've got a new 2004 Mobius LSV that I intend to store outside at a nearby storage facility. Is there some type of wheel lock or something that I can put on the single-axle trailer to prevent someone who has access from hitching up the boat and driving away with it?? Any suggestions are welcome.

There are several different tongue locks, you can even just use a master lock on it or up to locks that cover the entire tongue. A chain through the tire also works.

I cut the threaded section off of a 2inch hitch ball, then locked it into the tongue with a masterlock. That way its harder to just drop the locked tongue onto a smaller ball and drive away. Not gonna stop people who are serious, though.

I manage a trailer parts distributor. One of the vendors that I purchase from has been working on a new wheel lock. This lock is a lot heavier duty than any I have seen on the market to this point. However, it will not be available for sale until possibly the first of March. That is the way I would go if I were you. However, if you don't want to wait that long, there are other very good coupler locks that work better and are a lot less hassle than cutting the threads off of a hitch ball.

If you haven't found anything that you are satisfied with, this is something that I can help you with. If you want, you can send me an e-mail and I will send you some further information on what the best locks are, or some more info on the wheel lock. I have a large customer in Austin that I could put you in contact with for freight free purchase.
