An Outback V that is...with all the trimmings.

Stay tuned as details unfold daily illustrating the birth of Ed's new baby.

I wonder if Ed has a name yet?

Moomba Martha’s egg has been planted and growing at a rapid pace.

On Oct. 1st she received her gel coat.

Awe…what a beauty she will be!

Gene Owens…priceless photos...priceless!

This is an awesome idea for a thread! I was fortunate enough to be able to go on a tour of the factory right before our boat was built, so I got to see all the steps, but its still cool to see again - especially when its a member of the boards' boat getting built!

Coincidence? Not likely.

Thank you so much for posting these. Just one more reason I am a Moomba owner for life. I bet no owners of other boats get this kind of attention.

That's for sure.

Ed, I love your idea of making an album for posterity. I always save the window sticker off my new cars so I can stick it back in the window when I go to sell. The buyers love being able to see the original price and options, etc.

I don't know. I'm a little uncomfortable seeing Martha all bare and vulnerable looking like that.

ncarrera
10-03-2008, 12:11 PM
While I was gone yesterday Gene said Martha's deck went from starting to dilate to 7 cm and her hull went to 9 cm. She’s getting ready to push folks....

ARE YOU READY!!!!

She's going to be a beauty!!!

ian ashton
10-03-2008, 12:41 PM
Very very cool; I can't wait to see what it looks like!

ncarrera
10-06-2008, 11:02 AM
She is fully dilated and we can see the head. Gene says...get the salad spoons man!

Ed, don't freak out....the green is to be expected. So are you nervous, excited?

When we went of the factory tour I saw the lime green molds and said that I thought that should be a color they offered, lol...

ncarrera

Guess who's getting built...RIGHT NOW!
Her deck and hull have been separated (temporarily) to be built! Her deck is getting deck carpet and hardware as her hull gets all the transom and underwater gear installed.

Yes siree -
It's me
Johnny B

Her deck is now having the upholstery and dash installed while the hull is being carpeted. IT'S A REALLY BIG DAY FOR MARTHA! She'll probably even have a personality by the end of the day!

...btw - a blunt will be just fine.

Wow, this is just the coolest thread I have ever seen! It's almost like being able to walk her through the assembly line! Next SC will be installing "baby cams" like day cares have.

Ed, I think I saw somewhere where you were trying to get the pictures in order. I think that when you load pics into the albums, they are last in, first shown. So, wait till the end and download them backwards.

JohnB
10-07-2008, 03:53 PM
For a short time, before her deck was permanently attached to the hull, she sang. It was beautiful Ed

And did a little work on Martha.....none other than the #1 Wake skater in the World...

REED HANSEN.

Reed actually put some of the screws in for Martha's rub rail on the right side. So, if your rub rail falls off or you notice that big scratch on the right side...it's Reed's fault!!! (Just kidding, he did great!)

All is quiet at the plant now and I imagine she's resting well. Tomorrow is another big day! She may even get a little "gassy" tomorrow afternoon!

I'll take all the gear I can get :)

I think it would be cool to have a link to the forum, like 'forums.moomba.com' or 'moomba.com/forums' and put that on a shirt with the logo too or something. Something to identify all of us nut-jobs as a group apart from all the rest, lol.

First off let me say WOW what a gorgeous boat and a huge thanks to skiers choice for all the attention to detail and for going out of their way to supply us with the best thread of the year (which my lawnmower thread closely followed in 2nd before the spam)

With that said, Ed I want you to know that I officially hate you now. Not only are you getting all the attention and lets not mention that Reed Hansen has personally worked on your boat, follow that up with pic 3 from above showing what has to be a super long surf pocket on an absolutely gorgeous boat and on and on and on…….yep I am officially jealous!

I just came back from seeing Bob Campbell and Rob. They thought that was great when I told them about the photos of you putting in the screws.

The fellow (Danny from Oklahoma) who purchased my Outback has a teenage son who is a wake skater and a HUGE fan of yours.

I'm surprised they haven't been making me offers to by THIS boat from me.

Kyle: I know your readin' this... sorry buddy, but you are going to have to wait at least 5 years to buy it!!

Dude! you (are) famous! We've been watching the birth unfold. What a neat process. Little jealous of the tower but Stella will be wearing one soon. Dawg, you call me in five years. I'll be there. If nothing else we'll drink a Beer!

How bout some kinda autograghed t-shirts for us Okies. We are trying to promote Moomba in this area. I got to tell you, I've got a (GOT MOOMBA?) sticker on my truck, and numerous times I've been asked "What the Heck
is a Moomba" My reply the " Best Wakeboard Boat Ever Made" Are we hooked or what. Good Luck with Martha she looks magnificent. ROCK ON!:D

Allright. I'm ready to puke now. Both of those colors are nice, but together? You guys are colorblind! In 1976 there was guy that ordered a '76 Eldorado convertible midnight blue with a green leather interior. When he saw it he wouldn't take delivery even though he'd have to forfeit the down payment. My Dad asked the dealer what they were going to do with the car. The guy said, "What else can we do? We're gonna paint it green!"

Kudos to Ed for looking at a little sample and picking out these magnificent colors. I'm sure they'll be using Martha in the brochures.

Thread ressurection...

This is definitely one of the best threads on this board. From what I can tell it took between 3 and 4 weeks from start to delivery. For some reason I can not see any of EdG's posts in this thread other than ones that were quoted.

When I place my order I am going to try and get them to do the same thing for me. I have an ace up my sleeve that may help me out if they are short staffed when my boat is being constructed.
