My dealer also has a 07 Supra 21V that he has priced a couple thousand more then the 08 LSV's.

What do you guys think about that. Is the 21V worth it and a better boat? It does come with Perfect Pass which none of the LSV's have.

For a couple k, I'd grab the supra, buts that's me. Both are great boats.

You should ride in both, then you can make a better decision. Is the 07 Supra new? If not, then the 08 may be a better choice. A boat that meets your needs should be the driving force. Then, if both meet your needs, which one do you like better. Can you afford the extra cost? It may "only" sound like a little more, but $2,000 is still $2,000.

Mike,
What all do you want to do in your boat? Ski, Wakeboard, Surf?

I have 06 LSV and love it. 21V is a boat that I would consider next. I don't ski.. any so no issue to me, but if you plan to slalom, I don't think you'll enjoy the wake behind the 21V where as you could tame the wake with the LSV..

Wakeboarding, the 21V will be SUPREME to the 21V. It has a very deep V upfront..

I have read where the 21V can be difficult to get a great surf wave.. but have no experience..

The 21V is 21'2" and the LSV is 21'6" so there is not much diff in length. I think the freeboard of the 21V is a little deeper than LSV..

Ditto the post above.. test drive both.. they are too close to compare without seeing how they perform. I assume both have the 325 EFI engine?

21V has Perf Pass and LSV has Moomba Cruise?

I am guessing if he still has an 07 21V, you could probably lean on the price even harder just to move it out!

I was kind of under the impression they were basically the same boat? My buddy has a 22SSV. Chad from the site here can get a better surf wake from his LSV than we could from the 22SSV. Just some food for thought.

Nope, totally diff hulls.
If I can find the word on surfing a 21V, that may be my next play.
(I have a short attention span.. I have had this boat 1 year..)

Wife says we are keeping this one! Guess I'll lose this battle..

Wakeboard, Surf, and unfortunately pull a tube.

Yep and my dealer says it is $1500 to put Perf Pass in the LSV. My 14 year old daughter will probably be doing a bit of driving which has me leaning towards Perf Pass.

The 21V doesn't have the tower speakers in it anymore but other then that and Perf Pass they boats are similarly equipped option wise.

Mike,

I considered a 2006 21V when I bought my 2006 LSV. The 21V has the playpen seating and was more upscale than the Moomba. In 2006, the 21V had ss cupholders vs plastic, ss bimini fittings vs plastic, nicer steering wheel, interior courtesy lights, and a stowable ski pylon (very nice feature). But I was already pushing the budget with the LSV so I went with it. I've very happy with the LSV, no regrets whatsoever.

Regarding PP, I think the dealer is over charging you. I understand that PP is a simple install on the '08s since they have throttle by wire. I would try to get them to install it at their cost.

Great advice. I'll do that.

Will the 21V ride better in rough water then the LSV?

Also does anyone have a $2000 coupon I could use?

Thanks again for everyones advice...

$2,000 bucks can buy some toys if you don't already have them, or 10 fills at the gas pump at 5.00 a pop on the water or 12.5 times if you fill it by land.

supras are nice, but so are the moombas.... IMO buy i am biased
:D

Drive both. The Supra is going to be a little nicer and most of the options on the Moomba are standard on the Supra. The hull is deeper, so the ride may be a little better is rough water, but not that much. I would get the Perfect Pass either way. I love my '08 21V, but never test drove the LSV, partly because we weren't talking about that much money, partly because of the options, and mainly because of the room in may garage. You will be happy with either boat. If the Supra is an '07, there may be some wiggle room on the money. Good luck.

Are you surfing any with your 21V? If so, what is your set up?

No surfing yet. I am going to tackle that next year. The only time I have gone that slow and looked at the wake, I haven't had the tanks full.

Thanks for all the information. I think I'm going to go for the 21V. We will test ride saturday and if we like it we'll buy it.

The built in PerfectPass and stuff like the rotating board holders was too hard to pass up.

mikebu I love my moomba, but If I could swing it I'd go for a supra any day over the moomba.... both great boats but the supras just have extra toys on them!

Here is a pic of the boat. We'll be signing the papers next week. Thanks for all the advice. The Supra boards seem silent compared to this one...

I'm not sure that's good or bad. Maybe the other forums aren't busy because they're all out using their boats.

Or they are working overtime to pay for their overpriced boats ;)

Veny nice boat, mikebu. Can't go wrong with that one. Enjoy!

Awesome looking ride! Congrats and enjoy! Hope you put some hours on before winterization!
BTW< there are several Supra owners on here regularly.. some are moomba>>Supra transfers and others just realized like you, no activity over there..
