Does anyone else have a problem with getting water in their ears after a day of wakeboarding/skiing? It seems every weekend I go, I have water in my ears for a week, they just start to dry up and then I have to go to the lake again. Any remedies for this?

SwimEar! Can get it at drug stores and grocery stores. We use it with the kids everytime we return from a day of water sports. Keeps the infections away too!

Our doctor recommended a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and vinegar, instead of buying Swimear. Seems to help the kids (when we remember to use it).

I am an alcohol guy too, q-tip or cotton swab with alcohol, dries my ears out every time. I did read something the other day about how it is bad for your ears and dries the ear drum out if used in excess or too often.

No knowledge of swimear........

We always do the Qtip with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and peroxide.

Swimear has glycerin in it so it does not dry out the eardrum, just the water.

The Doctor told us to use Swimear! And I believe it was for the reasons Seark says. However, when we are out of swim ear it is alchohol and vinegar.

The Dr told us Swimear or alcohol/vinegar (50/50) was just as good and a lot cheaper. I like Swimear because of the bottle. It makes it easy to dispense.

Keep the A/C turned up and it dries up everything.

Yea, right. Free legal advice. That carries exposure with nothing coming in. Actually, I know nothing about that area but I'll take a look.

So will vodka work also? I am just thinking of keeping the bottles i bring on the boat down. Also what should you do if you think you have gotten an ear infection?
